From initial concept to final photos, this Exotic style Xie Lian cosplay involved an immense amount of detail. Diverging from the ethereal, flowing wide robes of the original Heaven Official's Blessing design, this version features a more combat-ready, waist-baring white top paired with black metallic bracers. While this design accentuates the character's physique, wearing it took considerable effort, as the silver chains and red ribbons easily tangled and had to be smoothed out bit by bit. To complement the dynamic drape of the red veil, I chose a pose looking back over my shoulder—one hand outstretched and the other clenched in a fist across my chest—lengthening the red gauze while conveying the character's fierceness through body language. The lighting on the day of the shoot was fantastic; the sunlight reflecting off the white fabric and silver ornaments created a wonderfully translucent texture. The photographer, Zeng Yutao, specifically directed me to keep my back straight to emphasize the upright, imposing posture characteristic of exotic attire. For makeup, I tweaked the eyeliner to give the gaze a sharper edge; paired with the straight black wig, it captured that weathered yet composed demeanor befitting an exotic environment. In post-processing, we intentionally preserved skin textures and pores rather than overly airbrushing, keeping it authentic. Debuting this costume at CWTT32 also drew plenty of attention from fellow fans. The shoot wasn't without its challenges: maintaining posture in a crop-top design required substantial core engagement, and along with the weight of the headpiece and wig, my muscles were definitely stiff by the end of the day. Yet these adjustments are precisely what makes cosplaying so rewarding. This photoshoot was not just a tribute to the character design, but also a test of my own physical control. Choosing a slight low-angle shot added grand presence, where the hand's strength and the waist's curve came together perfectly to express an exotic martial chivalry. The interplay of light and shadow is what I'm most pleased with—the dominant white tone accented by vibrant red creates a striking visual contrast.
