Preparing the costume and props for this Moriya Suwako cosplay took over half a month, and this time I mainly want to talk about the practical photoshoot details. The purple dress was crafted from custom jacquard fabric with subtle woven textures, revealing delicate shade variations under the sunlight, with the flare of the skirt tailored specifically. The sheer white outer coat is made of breathable crinkled chiffon with flared sleeves, which both flatter arm lines and add airy grace when twirling. The straw hat is adorned with red tassel ornaments and a white semi-sheer veil; controlling its drape tested handcrafting skills, but it ultimately established wonderful visual layering. As for the White stockings worn, I chose a thin, sheer denier—this material looks far more natural than flat, stark white and helps highlight leg contours. In the first mirror selfie holding the massive lotus leaf, its green hue harmonized surprisingly well with the purple dress and white gauze. In truth, the lotus stem was quite heavy; holding it throughout an afternoon shoot left my arm rather sore, but I persevered for a complete composition. Later, I switched to crouching poses, which yielded great ambiance even if the framing felt slightly tight. When indoor light came through, reflections on the mirror were quite noticeable, requiring continuous camera repositioning to keep the background clean. The white socks echoed the tones of the wooden flooring, and the drapes of the skirt pleats and tassels while crouching nicely captured that natural, rustic, yet subtly mystical feeling unique to Touhou Project. I am very pleased with the overall makeup, styling, and prop completion of this Character outfit, and I hope this shoot offers a lovely visual reference for everyone in the cosplay community.
