I finally got my hands on the Cosplay convention photos of this Cheshire Cosplay cheongsam look from the Chongqing anime convention.

Choosing to cosplay this look was largely because the design of this modified cheongsam really resonated with me. The primary vibrant red palette is exceptionally eye-catching, while golden floral embroidery on the chest and skirt hemline adds opulent elegance, and the white mandarin collar at the neckline tempers the intensity of the red, creating rich visual layers. This high-slit tailoring, paired with lace-trimmed over-the-knee White stockings and white platform high heels, elongates the leg lines while seamlessly blending the character's elegance and playfulness. Whether walking around the convention floor or striking static poses, the outfit was remarkably comfortable, without feeling stuffy or overly restrictive.

For hair and makeup, I used a silver-grey short wig with distinct cyan-blue highlights on the ends and bangs, paired with bright blue contact lenses to make my gaze look lively and expressive. The massive white plush beast-ear headpiece, adorned with red tassels and ribbons along the edges, served as the primary visual highlight of the entire ensemble, making it instantly recognizable in the crowds. Although the headpiece had considerable weight and made my neck a bit sore after wearing it all day, it was completely worth it for flawless fidelity.

During the shoot, the photographer was very professional and picked angles that brilliantly showcased the unique features of this outfit. The single-leg standing posture in the first photo was quite a test of balance—maintaining center of gravity while keeping the upper body poised—where the white round fan prop nicely extended body lines. The second shot was a more relaxed moment leaning against a black studio light stand on site, holding the fan with clasped hands to convey a touch of languor and poise. The lighting conditions at the venue were great; the Fujifilm SOOC color rendition was remarkably true to life, making the red cheongsam look vibrant under the cooler convention lighting, while the textures of the white lace stockings and white shoes remained crisp and clear in these Cosplay convention photos.

Even though the convention background was crowded and complex, the photographer used a wide aperture to blur out other attendees and steel truss structures behind me, focusing visual attention cleanly on my character look and granting the photos a sharp, clean texture. The atmosphere at the venue was wonderful, and fellow fans were incredibly enthusiastic. Being able to capture my favorite Cosplay convention photos at such a vibrant Chongqing anime convention was truly a fantastic experience.

Finally, let's talk about the fine details of this styling. I actually dyed the wig highlights myself; to ensure the highlights blended seamlessly, I adjusted the color proportions repeatedly. The tassels on the round fan and the embroidery details on the garment added varied dimensions to the character. My original intention for doing this Azur Lane Cheshire Cosplay was simply the desire to bring this beloved cheongsam look to life. Although I spent all day under a heavy headpiece and wig, sweating quite a bit by the end, seeing the vibrant colors and well-fitted garment details in the final Cosplay convention photos made all the preparation feel meaningful. This is the true charm of cosplay—bringing beloved characters into the real world to experience the fiery passion of the convention.
