[Cyrene Cosplay] A Stained-Glass Dream in Honkai: Star Rail: Coexistence of Gentleness and Ethereal Grace

This shoot features Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail. Sitting on a white wooden window sill really felt like falling into a flower-scented dream. From makeup test to official shooting, the entire prep process was quite challenging, but seeing the final photos made every bit of hard work worthwhile.

Let's dive into the outfit details first. The main white dress features an off-the-shoulder design, with shoulder cutouts perfectly highlighting collarbones, crafted from pearlescent sheer gauze that casts a soft iridescent shimmer in sunlight. The blue-purple crystal chest splicing accessories had to be hand-glued piece by piece; to ensure they wouldn't fall off, I reinforced them with hot glue multiple times in advance. The skirt layers are extremely rich: white sheer gauze on the outside, light blue peeking through the middle, and deep purple lining inside that naturally flares out when walking like a blooming flower. A large deep purple train fabric on the right was intentionally draped outside the window sill during shooting to extend visual depth.

Paired on the legs are white sheer tights printed with intricate vine and petal patterns; this White thigh-highs outfit stocking design requires careful fit, needing delicate handling when wearing to avoid distortion. The white strap wrapped around the ankle is a separate accessory; I tied two knots that don't pinch the feet while echoing the leg patterns, visually elongating leg proportions. The crescent moon prop in hand was handcrafted from raw materials, painted pearlescent white with delicate blue trim along the edges, making it lightweight and stunning in hand.

For hair and makeup, the wig is soft light pink short hair. To maintain volume, I crimped the inner layers before smoothing out the surface. The white feather hairpiece on top was cast from resin and spray-painted, secured with two invisible clips so it wouldn't fall no matter how I turned my head. Makeup-wise, I opted for a natural, translucent base, applying pale pink and champagne eyeshadow with slightly winged eyeliner for a gentle yet spirited gaze. The lip color is a glossy peach that harmonizes beautifully with the pink hair.

The shoot set was a specially decorated flower room window sill with white-painted grid frames for a vintage pastoral feel. Fake flowers—yellow roses, pink daisies, blue hydrangeas, and lush green vines—packed every gap along the sill and top frame, creating a Dreamy sea of flowers atmosphere. The photographer used reflectors and a softbox primarily to simulate soft, natural sunlight, keeping highlights from blowing out while preserving fabric and petal layers.

The process was actually exhausting because the sill was narrow and packed with flowers; a slight tilt in posture would crush branches, requiring constant core adjustments. In the first photo, I sat sideways holding the crescent prop; holding my right arm high required suspended core strength. In the second photo, stretching my arms and letting my legs hang down tested ankle lines, requiring me to point my toes while the photographer took 7-8 candid snaps to capture the most natural frame. Honestly, shooting ethereal characters requires relaxing your body—the looser the movement, the more flowing the photos look.

We experimented with different framing angles this time, capturing both half-body close-ups and panoramic wide shots encompassing the window sill and flower scene. Post-processing avoided over-smoothing skin, focusing on color tuning to slightly boost yellow and green saturation for a clearer light balance. The character's whole aura is light and dreamy, and I feel these photos successfully convey that quiet, soft rest among the flowers.

Before every shoot, I study the character's movement lines. On this window sill, whether holding props or reaching out, elbow and shoulder angles needed careful control to avoid stiffness. Tiny outfit details like the separate white sleeve cuffs are fixed to shoulders with press studs to prevent slipping. Reflective props can glint too harsh under direct light, so the photographer adjusted light angles to ensure every detail stayed crisp.

Though preparations were tedious, seeing myself surrounded by a sea of flowers in the final shot made all testing and waiting completely meaningful. This shoot deepened my understanding of the character—not just her visual design, but that quiet yet steadfast inner emotion.
