[March 7th cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Journey at the Shenzhen Anime Convention

The retouched photos from the June 28 Shenzhen anime convention are finally finished! The character I cosplayed this time from Honkai: Star Rail was March 7th, paired with my partner as the Trailblazer. The convention was crowded that day, so choosing an outdoor shooting location took quite a while before we settled on an architectural wall and lawn area. The blue-and-white gradient of this costume feels very refreshing, with a neat skirt silhouette. The wig crafted by wig stylist Youran has wonderful layering and a remarkably accurate pink gradient. I did my own makeup, mainly using pink eyeshadow to match the hair color while emphasizing eye contours and an energetic, spirited expression.

Throughout the Cosplay photography session, photographers Xiaoyu and Bg constantly explored angles. For the first high-kick pose, wearing a short skirt meant adjusting angles repeatedly to look dynamic without wardrobe mishaps, while keeping facial expressions composed—a real test of leg flexibility! Later, we took close-ups and half-body shots using the blue camera prop; the light hit my face just right, and the photographer used a reflector to even out my skin tone.

Afterward, we moved to the lawn. For the seated photos on the grass, the photographer guided my calf placement to leverage lens perspective, making the leg lines look naturally elongated. With the background grass softly blurred by the wide aperture, the subjects stood out with rich ambiance. To capture the final lying-down duo shot, we lay on the grass for quite a while—luckily, there were no bugs around.

Although shooting under the scorching sun was tiring, seeing the finished results was deeply satisfying. This set faithfully captures March 7th's cheerful, perky vibe and strong storytelling of documenting life with her camera. The garment textures, wig curves, and lighting layers were all captured wonderfully. Achieving this quality for convention photos makes all the hard work that day feel truly rewarding. A funny little incident occurred during the shoot: I briefly set the blue camera prop on the ground and it was almost stepped on by a passerby, but thankfully I grabbed it just in time! Also, to keep the outfit pristine, we constantly sought dry, flat ground to prevent grass mud from dirtying the skirt and boots. Ultimately, I love both the garment textures and the framing compositions. The joyful atmosphere with everyone chatting made the shoot feel effortless. It was a fantastic experience, and I'm thrilled to share our process and final set.
