[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Convention photos: A Wonderful Holiday

The turnaround for this Cyrene look on Day 2 of Dreamland was insanely fast! Huge thanks to the model-worker photographer Niao Sheng Yu Tang for the lightning-fast shoot that completely captured the vibe of 'A Wonderful Holiday.' I prepared for quite a long time for this Cyrene Cosplay. The pink-to-white gradient wig was trimmed into defined layers, and the small braids along the cheeks as well as the headpiece accessories were crafted with immense care—the blue bobby pins and whimsical fantasy ears strictly followed the character design. For makeup, I wore purplish-pink contacts, leaned into pink tones for the eye makeup, and added extra blush to my cheeks, hoping to project a more vibrant energy as a 2D anime girl before the lens.

Coordinating the outfit was one of the major highlights. The cropped white camisole has bright pink piping, and the layered holographic jacket reflected diverse lustrous sheens under the convention lights. The dark gray pleated skirt, accented with a paisley waist sash and a metal chain belt, brought a hint of street style to the casual look. To match the setting, I chose white platform sneakers and white slouch socks, which not only elongated leg proportions but were also super comfortable for walking around. The crossbody white mini bag was embellished with a pink bow, echoing the overall color scheme.

During the shoot, props like the bunny plushie and the lollipop helped tremendously. With props in hand, my gestures felt much more natural. Roaming the hall to find good lighting, many passersby stopped to say hello, making the atmosphere truly wonderful. Instead of seeking complex backdrops, we used the venue's light stands, trusses, and crowd bokeh to frame the shots, creating crisp subject separation. I especially love the pose in Photo 3 where I lift one leg—it highlights the details of the pleated skirt and socks while visually adding dynamic lightness, and that angle really flatters the leg length. Although the cut of the outfit is tailored, it never felt constricting, making it perfect for an event environment that requires extensive walking.

From fitting to final makeup, every outfit goes through endless fine-tuning. Take this cropped camisole, for example: the length and cinched waist were tested several times before finding the most flattering visual silhouette. I also tried wearing the holographic jacket fully on versus slipping off one shoulder, finally deciding that the effortless off-the-shoulder drape fit the 'Wonderful Holiday' concept much better. To keep the wig fluffy and full, I even carried a small comb and hairspray with me to touch up on the spot.

Cyrene naturally possesses a lighthearted, bright demeanor, so for facial expressions, I tried to stay relaxed and avoided forcing stiff, aloof poses. Before the camera, I imagined myself genuinely enjoying a wonderful holiday, lifting the plushie or gently waving the lollipop. I hope everyone can feel that easygoing happiness from these photos. Spending this day at the Xi'an Dreamland Comic Convention was tiring on the feet, but connecting with so many friends who love the 2D culture and seeing the final Convention photos from the photographer made every bit of preparation worthwhile.
