This set of Arknights Skadi the Corrupting Heart cosplay costume and props has finally finished its final convention photos on-site at Xiamen ANE. Riding the wave of excitement from just getting the pictures, I'm rushing to share my experience of this photo drop and the convention with everyone. From custom-making the outfit to carrying a massive pile of gear to the exhibition hall, the entire process brought a huge sense of accomplishment, faithfully displaying my deep impression of this operator while evoking the ethereal theme of carefree murmurs.

Let's first talk about the costume and props that consumed the most blood and sweat this time. The biggest visual feature of this look is that extremely exaggerated white pointed large hat—it's absolutely massive with rigid edges. To secure it properly, I stuffed it with very thick padding and reinforced it with metal wires to ensure it wouldn't fall off or deform while walking around the convention and striking poses. I hand-threaded the black lines and star decorations on the brim, as well as the cascading red and blue bead strands and fine metal chains bit by bit. Although time-consuming, the final result was truly worth it. The details on top of the head are very rich; when lowering or raising my head, the crisp sound of the chains clinking adds a touch of on-site atmosphere.

The main costume utilizes a dazzling red light-reflective fabric for the tube top upper body, paired with multiple layers of black ruffled decorations at the neckline, and a small white ornament on the chest. The red-white-black color clash beautifully complements the skin tone. The design of the sleeves is detached and independent; for the inner lining, I specially selected a light blue fabric for the rolled edges to echo the light blue gloves, breaking up the monotony of pure red and black. The lower half is a red high-slit long skirt, tied with black straps and leg rings on the side, creating a visuals-enhancing lined silhouette on the thighs.

The most eye-catching element is probably that pair of silver metallic-textured high-heeled long boots on my feet. The bootlegs are quite rigid with great support. Walking on the smooth tile floor of the convention hall required extra caution, but after putting them on, my overall aura was raised significantly, which, combined with the straps and skirt, made the overall sense of styling highly distinct.

The props this time were also heavily crafted. The staff is a long black rod with a highly complex silver metallic design at the top resembling interwoven bones, carrying a certain weight in hand. While posing, it serves as both an excellent interaction prop and an extension of the line of sight in the composition. Behind me, I also carried an ultra-large black hard-shell long box with red stripes and black straps. In fact, this box is a dual-purpose prop; when not shooting, it can hold a lot of lightweight gear, and during shooting, it can directly serve as a background support or a seat. The sitting posture photo in Figure 6 was shot directly sitting on this box, perfectly displaying the details of the long boots and straps while creating a slightly casual, cool atmosphere.

Regarding the makeup and hairstyle, I chose to pair silver-white long hair with a somewhat intense eye makeup this time. A large area of red blending was intentionally swept around the eyes, paired with deep black eyeliner and dense long eyelashes, with a true red lip color. The entire focus of the makeup was on highlighting that cool yet alluring temperament, which, combined with the white hair, packed a strong visual impact under the cool-toned lighting of the convention hall.

Xiamen ANE's venue crowd size was truly massive, but fortunately, we specifically set up lighting in a corner for the shoot. In addition to visiting tourists, many professional photographers carrying softboxes and light stands were busy on-site. The photographer @猫有演并式 who cooperated this time handled light and shadow beautifully. In a place with a cluttered convention backdrop, he expertly stripped the character away from the background, capturing many close-ups of my gaze, and I especially love those moments of slightly raising my eyes.

Looking back at this convention, although spending a day carrying a massive box and clumsy props was physically exhausting, the moment I put on this costume and stood under the professional stage lights with the staff in hand, recalling that line from the game—"The air and the land... are both too dry. The song will seep into your soul"—I instantly immersed myself into the character's atmosphere, fully channeling the emotions. This kind of on-site immersive feeling is one of the greatest joys of playing cosplay. It wasn't in vain that I prepared back and forth for this outfit for so long; being able to display the final product on-site at the convention and being praised by everyone for high replication brings a very tangible sense of accomplishment and joy.
