[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: That Fleeting yet Lingering Memory

Once I decided to take on Cyrene Cosplay from Honkai: Star Rail, the prep work focused primarily on the wig and props. The layered Pink hair bob needed thinning and sculpting, while the white gradient dye at the tips was carefully blended to look natural without stark color blocks. The blue contact lenses were paired with cool-toned eyeshadow to offset the sweetness of the Pink hair and accentuate a serene, aloof mood. To make the eyes pop, I specially enhanced the lashes. The outfit features abundant details: a navy off-the-shoulder dress with wide flared bell sleeves lined with pink and white, complemented by dark lace-up ribbons and gold patterns. The black bow and white ribbon at the chest needed precise positioning so they wouldn't look bulky on camera. The gold necklace and white horns on my head were the defining touches; sanding and painting the horns took quite some time to ensure realistic texture. During the pre-shoot fitting, I noticed the metal shoulder chains were somewhat heavy, but I kept them to preserve accuracy.

The prop was a weighty vintage book adorned with silver-white geometric patterns and magic circle motifs. To highlight the book's texture during shooting, I repeatedly practiced angles for turning pages and holding it, right down to where my fingers rested on the cover. The set was a retro interior—dark wood furniture, warm yellow sconces, and a softly blurred background established the overall tone. The photographer placed foreground elements before the lens to create dappled foreground bokeh, enriching the image depth. Warm side-rim lighting caressed my face and hair, producing a natural, luminous glow along the edges. Between takes, I checked the playback monitor to verify framing and light, communicating with the photographer immediately to retake any angle if needed.

To convey the character's languid, quiet side, I avoided sweeping or exaggerated poses. Leaning against the wooden structure while reaching toward the camera invited connection with the viewer; looking back over my shoulder while holding the book required exact control over head tilt and gaze direction to capture that effortless, subtle glance. Sitting at the table resting my chin in my hand while reading, the tabletop reflection and adjacent floral vase enriched the frame. The voluminous sleeves draped naturally with movement, harmonizing quietly with the book. We ran into minor hitches during shooting, such as the sleeve ribbons loosening easily and the wig's bangs needing constant adjustments. Yet through close communication with the photographer, refining posture and breathing rhythm, the final delivery fully met expectations. The overall color palette is warm yet carries an aura of mystery, which I hope conveys that nostalgic ambiance. Every Game cosplay outing is a brand new adventure—from preparation to shooting and post-processing, every phase is packed with creative challenges in Anime-style photography.
