[Xingqiu Cosplay] Waving the Fan, Wielding the Sword, Practicing the Art of War: A Leisurely Moment in the Cozy Tavern Room

Under the warm yellow lights of the tavern room, the Four Treasures of the Study are neatly arranged. Before shooting this set of photos, I kept thinking about how to naturally merge this young strategist's "literary elegance" and "chivalrous spirit" in front of the lens. Today, I'm sharing this set of Genshin Impact cosplay customer photos. From styling to set design, the entire photoshoot process felt incredibly fulfilling.

Let's talk about the styling details first. To match the character's temperament to the greatest extent, I chose a wig featuring a peacock blue and cyan gradient, with neatly cut straight bangs and side locks framing the face beautifully. For makeup, to echo the character's golden eyes, I specifically wore golden-yellow circle lenses, paired with tight eyeliner and deepened eyeshadow contours to make my gaze look deeper and cooler, while preserving a touch of youthful softness. The long golden tassel earring on my ear was also a masterstroke, looking exceptionally dynamic under the light.

Regarding the outfit, this custom Xingqiu design is highly sophisticated. The main attire is crafted from a thick, high-textured black and blue jacquard fabric with subtle patterns, embellished with exquisite golden cloud and fret embroidery—especially around the collar, shoulders, and waist, where the spiraling auspicious cloud patterns greatly elevate the outfit's noble feel. The eye-catching golden hollow-ring ornament on the chest, inlaid with a lake-blue gem, not only serves as a visual focus in the composition but also reinforces the character's Chinese-style attributes. The sleeve design is the absolute highlight: the voluminous, flowing white lantern sleeves of the inner layer create a strong contrast in material and color with the structured dark outer coat, offering a clear sense of layering. The bottom features clean-cut shorts paired with white-trimmed tall boots embroidered with cloud patterns. Decorated with black-and-gold straps and metal buckles, the boots flatter the leg shape while bestowing a light, nimble readiness to draw the sword and face enemies at any moment.

In this set, we experimented with a variety of props and scene combinations to reveal different facets of Xingqiu's personality. In the first and second photos, the black folding fan, paired with the calligraphy scroll and antique palace lantern in the background, creates a traditional scholarly vibe. Holding the fan half-open or closed required poses that are relaxed yet carrying a sense of control, showcasing his ease and composure when dealing with things. In the third photo, I held a blue-covered thread-bound book featuring the "Art of War" on its pages. Set against a green-leaf ink-wash style screen and a round wooden chair, I felt as if I were in a study room in Liyue, quietly studying military strategy.

Aside from the literary scenes, a dynamic side is certainly indispensable. The sword-holding action against a pure white background in the fourth photo demanded the agility of a chivalrous knight. With a blue-and-white long sword held horizontally in front of me, combined with a half-kneeling pose and hand seal gestures, I had to carefully manage the force in my shoulders, neck, and arms to display the sharpness of swordplay without looking unpolished on camera. Moving around in this outfit is actually quite restrictive; those voluminous white sleeves are especially prone to blocking my view when gripping the sword. We repeatedly adjusted the angles of lifting my arm and swinging the sword several times to freeze the most natural moment in the lens.

My absolute favorite scenes are the fifth and sixth photos. In the fifth one, I leaned back on a brown Chesterfield leather sofa, holding a goblet filled with amber liquid, with legs crossed naturally. The retro texture of this sofa was a major plus; paired with the wooden bookshelf beside me and stacks of original Russian books, it instantly felt like being in a private little library. When posing for this, I paid great attention to the relaxation of my body language to avoid any stiffness. With a slightly vacant gaze and my head resting gently on my hand, I tried to find an artistic state of solitary contemplation and wine tasting amid the peace. In the sixth photo, I picked up a book with Russian text on the cover. Complemented by the side-backlight filtering through the window, it maxed out the scholarly aura of focused literature reading.

In general, the challenge of this shoot was to effortlessly transition between three vibes—strategist, swordsman, and scholar—while wearing this Chinese-style fantasy outfit in this Anime-style photography session. I am extremely glad that the photographer and I worked in perfect synergy, capturing many moments woven with light, shadow, and emotion. Although putting on this intricate attire was time-consuming, and the hair accessories and jewelry had to be constantly adjusted so they wouldn't tilt during movement, being able to restore the image of this character in my mind to the greatest extent made this shoot completely worth it.
