The character of Evernight Sunday belongs to a remarkably intricate category within the visual design system of Honkai: Star Rail. Choosing to cosplay this look was primarily inspired by the character's inner complexity and outer elegance. To recreate this persona faithfully, I invested considerable thought into early preparations, especially the synergy between makeup and costume details, hoping to bring out his distinctive charm.

In terms of makeup for this female-to-male Crossplay, the key lies in structural facial lines. Sunday possesses delicate, aloof features, so rather than applying heavy, sharp contouring, I focused on capturing his gentle yet focused precision. For eyeshadow, I selected matte taupe-brown tones without shimmer to maintain a clean aesthetic. I extended the outer corners with a subtle upward flick, which, paired with reddish-pink contact lenses, conveyed a restrained aloofness before the camera. The eyebrows were drawn with reduced hair-stroke texture in a flatter, smoother arch to reflect his proud yet poised demeanor.

Styling the wig required significant effort. While this pale-pink wig offered faithful coloring, maintaining volume and textured layering during shooting was critical. I spent nearly an hour and a half working on the roots and trimming the bangs. To achieve that distinct, lightly tousled yet structured look, I used curling wands of different barrel sizes for localized styling, setting it with matte hairspray. The black bow and silver hair accessory atop the head served as vital visual anchors; their placement required careful consideration so they appeared as an organic part of the styling rather than slapped-on clips.

Costume details were equally essential. The black-and-white outfit features silver stitching and metallic accessories. The black rhombus brooch at the collar stands out prominently as a visual focal point. To ensure the metal hardware retained a grounded, premium texture without looking cheap, we carefully controlled lighting to prevent overexposure. The sleeves feature an asymmetrical design—a white lantern sleeve on the left and a black spliced sleeve on the right. Showing this structure required finding optimal camera angles; since eye-level shots often flatten these layers, the photographer used slightly low-angle upward framing for close-ups to maximize visual tension.

Regarding props, the blue-green bird in hand is one of the soulful elements of this Sunday Cosplay. Holding the bird required deliberate nuance—neither gripping it tightly nor holding it so loosely that it seemed about to fall. I relaxed my wrist, curving my index finger and thumb gently around it so the bird appeared to rest serenely in my palm, blending divinity with humanity.

In post-processing, I refrained from altering facial contours, preserving the original texture while making subtle brightness and color corrections for a crisp black-and-white contrast.

Honkai: Star Rail has always excelled in creative character designs, and having the opportunity to experience and recreate Sunday was a deeply rewarding journey. While not flawless, this outfit, makeup, and props reflect my sincere thoughts on the character.
