When taking this set of photos, it just happened to be right before the New Year with great weather, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to capture the New Year vibe of Ju Fufu. The crowd flow at the convention that day was indeed huge. To avoid messy lighting and backgrounds, photographer Sheng Ziqian and I wandered around the exhibition hall, finally finding a spot near the back with clear light passing through. Combining studio flash lights with the venue's large floor-to-ceiling windows gave this yellow-and-black outfit a very clean and crisp texture. The highlights on the metal claws looked especially sharp, perfectly matching the character's aura.

Speaking of styling details, I really want to talk about the fabric and tailoring of this outfit. The grey shirt lining has a firm collar, while the outer orange jacket features black checkered fabric pieced together at the cuffs, with techwear zippers and webbing on the arms and chest adding a lot of modern flair. The belt buckles, white decorations on the shorts legs, and thigh straps were carefully reinforced. Since I needed to make exaggerated body poses during the shoot—like opening both hands in an attack posture or sitting on the floor stretching my legs forward—if the clothes were too tight, it would look restricted.

The absolute highlights are definitely the claws and tail pairing. The metal claws feature an articulated finger design, making them very flexible when wearing them, but the weight is definitely there; my wrists actually got quite sore after shooting for a long time. Especially when I held the claws near my face or crossed them in front of my chest, my wrists needed continuous strength to maintain the stability and sharp presence of the claw tips. Fortunately, the gear was solid enough, and the silver blades reflecting under strong light didn't disappoint me at all. As for that fluffy big orange tail, when sitting or crouching for shots, adjusting the tail's position took more effort than posing, needing to follow the light direction to ensure a natural fur flow texture.

Because the character's eye design features a vivid light green color, controlling eye expression during shooting was crucial. It shouldn't look too fierce, as that would detach from the overall playful temperament. So while maintaining the character's confident and bold vibe, I kept the corners of my mouth slightly upturned with a casual, carefree feel. For those sitting compositions, the photographer shot from a low angle, showcasing the leg lines paired with sneakers while creating great visual tension. After all, convention photos need to capture authenticity; being too stiff makes it look rigid, whereas casual expressions and movements yield much better results.

Finally, let me talk about the concept of 'Good Fortune Arrives' (Fu Dao). Since it coincides with the Lunar New Year, the main orange hue throughout the set naturally carries a rich festive feel. Paired with tiger ears on top and sharp claws in hand, it has a strong visual impact. The photographer's post-processing color grading went for a bright and pure route, preserving my natural hair texture and airy bangs, giving an overall clean yet powerful feel. Finalizing these convention photos before the New Year made every tiring pose completely worth it when looking at the live playback.
