For these Liino cosplay Convention photos from the carnival, I've finally managed to edit part of the accumulated shots. The overall blue-and-white palette paired with a long orange-gold high ponytail creates a visual color clash that is strikingly eye-catching in the sunlight. The wig styling was a major focus this time: a high ponytail requires sufficient volume for support while preserving the natural texture of the bangs and sideburns, making it quite challenging to maintain a clean shape in breezy outdoor conditions. The wig stylist put immense care into securing the strands beforehand, ensuring the hair wouldn't wildly blow out of shape during the shoot and keeping that flowing grace unique to anime characters.
In terms of facial makeup, purple contact lenses gave my gaze deep focus, which, paired with deep eyeliner and well-defined distinct false eyelashes, softened facial bone structure to match the delicate facial proportions of 2D characters. The elf ears were applied to the inner ear rim using silicone, creating a natural transition that, together with the purple-to-black gradient heart pendant on the earlobes, completed the character's fantasy traits. The pair of black halo-shaped horns on top were actually quite light; their purple lining and the central blue star bow served as visual anchors for the entire headpiece, stabilizing the visual center of gravity of the high ponytail.
The garment holds even more details than what is visible in the photos. The white long-sleeved top features a two-piece layered construction, where the blue stripes at the cuffs are not printed graphics but structural piping creating three-dimensional texture. The number "00" and the word "SPARKLE" on the arms are signature elements of this look. The dark blue mandarin collar elegantly flatters the neck length, while the purple bowtie creates a transitional bridge across the upper body palette, preventing the blue and white from clashing abruptly. The dark blue multi-tiered miniskirt on the bottom flows with distinct depth during movement; the small white stars on the hem are deliberately arranged asymmetrically, adding dynamic sparkle under bright outdoor highlights.
When planning the wearing experience for this outfit, the most memorable piece was actually the purple heart-shaped waist pouch. Its size is just right—never feeling bulky—and it sits snugly around the hip line. The reflective leather finish shines brightly in the sun, echoing the texture of the black leather belt. The purple heart-tipped tail behind is reinforced with internal shaping wire, allowing it to maintain a natural curve whether standing still or posing dynamically, without drooping limply like flimsy fabric.
The Black stockings on the lower body featuring a white heart cutout near the upper thigh serve as another highly recognizable styling element. This asymmetrical cutout places high demands on the stockings' elasticity and fit to avoid rolling edges or pinching skin. The chunky black platform leather shoes looked sturdy against the gray outdoor ground while elongating lower-body proportions. The carnival plaza was quite crowded on the day of the shoot, but the photographer used a wide aperture to blur the busy background cleanly, bringing the character to the forefront. The natural light on site was ample yet direct, creating stark shadow contrast across the face and clothing; post-processing focused primarily on taming blown highlights and lifting shadow details to make the garment texture appear authentic and soft.
Although this costume has a complex layered structure, it felt completely unrestrictive when worn. Liino is inherently designed with an agile, dynamic personality; combined with her devil idol persona in Arknights: Endfield, I aimed to convey an energetic yet subtly mysterious presence during the shoot. Whether in static standing poses or dynamic single-leg-lift poses pointing toward the lens, I hoped to channel the character's confident and passionate stage presence. As a Convention photos log, the final Anime cosplay results were deeply gratifying, and the chemistry with the photographer along with the wig stylist's hard prep work truly paid off.
