These Convention photos of my Hsin cosplay from Wuthering Waves are finally completed, and today I'd like to chat with everyone about the shooting details and behind-the-scenes preparations for this Anime cosplay series. From seeing the concept art to the final delivery, a great deal of thought went into every step. The outfit features a classic red, black, and gold color scheme, integrated with traditional Chinese-style tailoring. The upper half is a black fitted corset adorned along the edges with golden metallic fixtures and linear accents. The draped red wide-sleeved cloak overcoat carries substantial weight, embroidered with golden patterns and trimmed along the cuffs with thick white faux fur. To showcase the garment's texture under the complex lighting of the comic convention, I paid special attention to cinching the waistline when dressing, ensuring my silhouette matched the original design's aesthetic. The red chest ribbons and neck ornaments were also carefully adjusted so they wouldn't shift out of place in front of the lens.

Hair and makeup took the most time by far. Flowing long white hair paired with massive white beast ears, featuring greyish-black gradients at the tips to bring out the mythical Fox girl look. To secure these oversized ears, I packed plenty of structural supports inside the wig, accenting the base of the ears with golden filigree ornaments and dangling earrings. The focal point of the face makeup lay in the red contact lenses and the crimson forehead mark right at the center. The eye makeup was drawn sharp and defined; to match the character's aloof demeanor in the setting, I strove to keep my gaze calm, almost indifferent before the camera. The long-handled prop in hand is black with subtle metallic accents at the base; although made from lightweight materials, holding it for long stretches still made my wrist ache, requiring quick stretches between takes.

Looking at the photos, you might notice that the skin on my legs and shoulders exhibits a striking reflective sheen. This was prepared specifically to interact with the venue's overhead lighting and photography equipment. Prior to shooting, I carefully applied body oil along my legs and collarbones. This texture makes the skin look remarkably translucent under intense light sources, which, combined with sitting sideways on the floor, accentuates body contours beautifully. Because I was appearing barefoot, I meticulously wiped the soles of my feet beforehand, worried that dust from the venue floor might ruin the shot. Wearing the massive tail was also a major undertaking: the harness point had to be concealed seamlessly, and given the tail's enormous volume, adjusting sitting postures required great care to let it drape naturally along my side without getting crushed. During takes, an assistant off-camera even helped gently prop up the tail tip to ensure the fluffy volume looked its absolute best.

Choosing to shoot inside the convention hall meant the circular ceiling lighting rigs and reflectors were visible in the background. Ambient lighting in the venue is quite chaotic, with crowds constantly moving around. To do justice to these Convention photos, the photographer spent considerable time scouting angles, utilizing a wide aperture to blur the background while preserving that distinct industrial edge and dimensional light. The shooting intensity that day was quite demanding: sitting on the floor for extended periods caused numbness in my legs, while constantly watching out not to dirty the hemline and tail. Moreover, the red outer robe easily picked up dust, requiring meticulous tidying whenever switching poses. But seeing how light and shadow danced across the red-and-gold garments and white fur in the finished photos made all the prior hardship worthwhile. The overall visual presentation of this Hsin cosplay styling is exceptionally cohesive, and I truly love capturing such an aloof, tranquil mood frozen within a bustling, chaotic environment.
