[Hsin cosplay] Let's Talk About the Makeup and Styling Details of Hsin from Wuthering Waves - Image 2

This time doing Hsin from Wuthering Waves, from the makeup test to the shoot, it really took a lot of thought, and I want to focus on sharing several details of the restoration. First is the head styling; Hsin's white fluffy ears and golden branch-like hair ornaments are the visual focus. To make the fur texture of the ears look natural, I repeatedly adjusted the layers on the wig and the plush accessories, and the black tips of the ears were also given a gradient treatment, otherwise they would look too stiff. The golden antlers hair ornament was chosen in a metal material, having a certain sense of weight, so it needs to be securely fixed during the shoot, or it easily slips. The wig was trimmed with blunt bangs and sideburns, and to flatter face shape, I added golden cross-star hair clips and tassel earrings. When walking, the swaying tassels feel amazing, which is also a great timing for candid snapshots during shooting.
The eye makeup part also took quite a bit of effort. To restore that fox-like gaze, I used an orange-red eyeshadow for large-area blending, elongated the eyeliner, and paired it with gold-brown contact lenses. The most special parts are the red mark right in the center of the forehead and the tear mole under the eye; these were drawn piece by piece using liquid eyeliner and body paint pigments, and I needed to touch them up at any time if my hands sweat. The eyebrows were covered to match the hair color, the overall base makeup leans pale, paired with a large area of pink blush, trying to lean towards that somewhat non-human, BJD doll-like direction. When the light hits the face, the texture looks even more translucent.
In terms of clothing, I really love the black, red, gold, and white color scheme. The inner black tube top has hidden patterns and decent breathability, while the outer red shawl has white fluff on the edges with great texture. The golden leaves and red gem choker on the chest, along with the gold bracelets and rings on the wrists—although these accessories have many details, wearing them indeed yields amazing visual effects. Also, the red flame and totem tattoos on the chest and back of the hands were painted using dedicated paint pigments. Outlining the edges of the hand tattoos took quite a bit of time; while painting, I had to hold my breath for fear of shaking hands, especially the lines at the joints, which not only had to match skin tone but also maintain their shape as poses changed.
During the shoot, I tried chin-resting and close-up poses towards the camera. To capture a few satisfactory close-ups, my arms were suspended or held in fixed positions for a long time—for instance, in the chin-resting photo, the gaze had to look straight into the lens without wandering. The combination of red nails and gold rings is also very eye-catching in close-ups, and long nails require extra care when handling props. Additionally, to showcase a bit of slight sexiness, I intentionally found composition angles that could present the curves of the chest and legs, where slightly turning sideways or bending the knees makes the proportions look better while keeping the frame from feeling too rigid. In short, this attempt spent a lot of time polishing the details of the makeup, styling, and accessories, hoping to convey the traits of this Hsin.
