This set of convention photos featuring Tamamo no Mae was taken at the New Lotus ACG Expo on August 3, 2024. Photographer 'Dengdeng' expertly harnessed the cool-toned background ambient light on-site, using a wide aperture to blur out the busy background. The subtle reflections off the venue floor added great depth to the composition, creating a lovely visual contrast between the cool blue atmosphere and my warm pink wig and fluffy fox ears. For this cosplay, I chose yellow-green contact lenses to evoke the gaze of a fox spirit, keeping the blush and lip color luminous and translucent.

In terms of costume, the core outfit is a black form-fitting bodysuit adorned with golden rings and cross-straps, complemented by elaborate grayish-blue ruffles along the neckline and sleeves. To accentuate the bust and leg lines, I deliberately adjusted my sitting postures during the shoot. For the cover shot, leaning forward with hands supporting my weight on the ground fully displayed the black stockings and thigh ring, using perspective to elongate the legs while highlighting the upper body details. The venue floor was quite hard, and we took multiple takes to lock down the best angle.

Regarding pose design, true to Tamamo no Mae's personality, I incorporated playful and enigmatic gestures. Shots two and six feature hand gestures, shot five extends an inviting hand, and shot four captures a low-angle perspective holding a paper talisman—each delivering distinct visual tension across different focal lengths. The talisman shot intentionally framed my fingers to enhance narrative depth. The styled and trimmed wig retained natural volume and gradient under the venue's overhead lights, providing a tactile texture that post-processing cannot replicate.

The pace of shooting convention photos is fast due to background foot traffic. The photographer had to catch fleeting expressions while I maintained physical tension to keep the outfit's silhouette crisp. With numerous accessories, especially the metal buckles and straps that easily shift during movement, checking every detail beforehand was essential. Black stockings and thigh rings worked wonders to elongate leg proportions in a convention setting, capturing the cool, seductive aesthetic I envisioned. The venue lighting felt very comfortable, and achieving such dimensional depth under limited convention conditions owes immense thanks to the photographer's patient guidance and ambient lighting coordination. This photoshoot log serves as a personal retrospective on cosplaying Tamamo no Mae—a thoroughly smooth and satisfying experience from costume preparation to final delivery.
