The Genshin Impact Venti cosplay convention photos from the outdoor shoot are finally sorted out. Wearing this outfit at a convention is actually quite fun because it comes with a huge set of white feather wings and two star-shaped ring props, making it very eye-catching in the crowd. Although the post description says "not official shoot photos," outdoor shoots have their own unique texture.
When doing this look, I chose a white base for the overall color scheme, complemented by gold and light blue accents, which goes very well with the green grass, blue sky, and white clouds in the background. The wig is dark blue, styled with small double braids and white bow hair accessories, and the slight curl at the tips of the hair perfectly frames the face. The light blue circular accessory on the chest with its metallic border is a detail I especially love. The shoulders and collar feature a white fluffy shawl, and the sleeves are translucent lantern sleeves with light cyan diamond patterns, giving an overall feeling of lightness.
The lower half adopts a combination of a midriff-baring top and white shorts. This outfit both preserves the character's agility and makes it convenient to walk around outdoors. The leg wear features an asymmetrical design: one side is an over-the-knee white stocking, while the other side is a bare leg, paired with transparent chunky-heeled sandals. The toenails are painted with a blue nail polish that matches the outfit, which improves the visual proportions of the legs when taking photos. The large white wings on the back are pieced together from multiple layers of fabric with clear contours; although they have some weight, the fastening was well done, so it didn't feel too burdensome when walking around the convention. The two golden ring props in hand look like solar patterns, which are perfect for striking various poses.
The sunshine on the shoot day was exceptionally nice. The white buildings and green plants under the blue sky and white clouds created a refreshing backdrop environment. Since it was outdoors, the intense light formed a distinct contrast between light and shadow, and the interplay of light and shadow on the steps and white walls gave the photos more dimension. During the shoot, I tried several angles with sitting and standing poses. For instance, sitting on the white stone steps and naturally extending both legs can well showcase the sense of freedom that the whole outfit aims to convey; also when standing, with the large wings spread out and holding the star-shaped rings, it brings a strong 2D atmosphere.
In convention photos, although the environment is not as controllable as a studio shoot and there are more passersby, this authentic sense of air and natural sunlight gives the character a vivid vitality instead. When sorting through the photos, I found that even though the wig reflection was obvious from some angles or the clothes were a bit wrinkled, I am still quite satisfied with the overall level of accuracy. After putting on this outfit, I often ran into fellow fans at the convention. Nodding to each other or being asked for a photo were all very joyful interactions. Every time I prepare a cosplay outfit with dedication, whether it's an exquisite official shoot or slightly casual convention photos, it is a concrete expression of love for the 2D world.
