Hello everyone, today I'm sharing the recently shot Hsin cosplay photoset from Wuthering Waves. The overall style of this shoot leans towards ancient style fantasy. To restore the fox ears element in the character design, I put a lot of thought into the props. The pair of white fox ears on top of the head underwent a gradient treatment, plus gold branch-and-leaf decorations, making them look both fluffy and cute, while carrying a trace of sacred temperament.
In terms of clothing, the details of this red and white color-scheme outfit are extremely rich. The red off-the-shoulder wide sleeves feature dark gold patterns, and the cuffs are decorated with white pom-poms. The chest uses black-and-gray wave patterns spliced together, added with golden metal accents, providing strong layering. The sheer fabric of the hem and the golden leaf accessories look particularly stunning when walking or striking poses.
On makeup, to fit the setting, I wore red contact lenses, used red-toned eyeshadow blending for the eye makeup, and painted a red mark on my forehead. The white wig features a slight black gradient, with bangs on the forehead framing the face shape. This combination of cool white skin and red-toned makeup is very suitable for showing this demonic yet aloof feeling.
The shooting process tested physical stamina quite a bit. Because it involved sitting or half-kneeling postures, and looking back while striking specific gestures, core strength had to be stable. Especially stepping barefoot on the wooden floor required great balance. The photographer used soft lighting, decorating the background with white gauze curtains and cherry blossom branches, coupled with Japanese shoji door elements, bringing out the entire atmospheric vibe.
During the shooting process, I kept adjusting my gestures and gaze. Wanting to express that state of carrying a bit of aloofness and a hint of allure, the curvature of the fingers had to be carefully pondered. Usually when doing cosplay, I have relatively high requirements for the texture of the clothing and the cleanliness of the makeup. The red fabric this time had a slight reflection under the lighting, and I'm very satisfied with the presented texture.
Actually, every time portraying such characters with animal ears, my neck gets sore because the headwear is too heavy, but seeing the effect in the final photos makes all the effort worthwhile. Characters combining ancient style and fantasy elements are always a genre I love trying. From selecting fabrics and making props to testing makeup, I participated in every single link. The Hsin styling adds a fox spirit setting on top of the ancient style foundation, making the overall look appear even more vivid.
In pose design, I purposely studied the presentation of hand movements; fingers must be flexible and restrained, not overly stiff. The sideways look-back posture can well showcase the back tailoring of the costume and the layers of the hairstyle. Because the venue space was limited, the photographer captured different full-body and half-body angles through focal length changes. As seen in the pictures, the angle of the light nicely outlined the subject's contours, and the light transmittance of the gauze curtains increased the hazy feel of the frame.
Actually, producing a set of photos, from preliminary settings to final photos, is a very long process. The pictures released today are mainly to showcase the texture of this outfit under lighting and the overall atmosphere. Thank you everyone for reading this far.
