When shooting this Li Muwan cosplay, the main intention was to faithfully recreate her cool, ethereal presence and the delicate sensibilities from the original novel. The outfit is an Ancient style costume featuring a gradient blue-and-white color palette; its fabric texture and layering were executed exquisitely, with the wide-sleeved robe providing a graceful drape. Accented with flowing blue ribbons, the visual extension during the actual shoot was exceptionally striking.

Regarding hair and makeup, to stay true to the character's design, the makeup artist subtly blended light reddish eyeshadow around the eyes and adorned the center of the forehead with a sapphire forehead pendant. The silver metallic crown chosen for this shoot required substantial time just to position correctly, as its fine, intricate tassels would easily snag on hair strands with the slightest movement.

The studio set was arranged with a rich classical Chinese Ancient style atmosphere, complete with wooden desks, warm yellow lantern stands, and plum blossom branches in the backdrop. Even the decorative crane ornament in the background added an extra layer of quiet serenity to the overall frame.

These three photos featuring different props are actually varied visual expressions captured within the exact same set. The first photo holding a folding fan and a green cup was primarily meant to convey a leisurely, relaxed state while nicely showcasing the robe's collar and the neckline contours. The second shot shows me holding a guqin; this pose required lifting my arms slightly higher while ensuring the instrument was aligned squarely with the camera angle, which proved rather demanding physically, though fortunately the final result turned out suitably poised and dignified. The third image features a three-quarter stance holding a painted scroll, an angle and pose that effectively highlights dimensional silhouettes.

A great deal of care went into preliminary discussions and post-production editing, preserving the genuine texture of the fabrics as much as possible without relying on exaggerated filters to recreate an authentic, breathing image. As a beloved character in Chinese animation/comics from Renegade Immortal, bringing her to life in my own way and freezing those fleeting expressions before the lens was a wonderful Photography experience. The overall photoset carries a soft, elegant aesthetic, showcasing diverse facets of the character through various props—a truly dedicated recreation whose raw files I will treasure.
