This Hsin cosplay photoset is finally meeting everyone. To restore the temperament of the Sentinel, a lot of preliminary preparation was done from makeup and styling to costume coordination. The wig chose long white hair with gray-black highlights, and the huge animal ears on top of the head and the oversized plush tail behind are the top priorities of the entire styling. To make the tail present the best fluffiness and realistic draping feel in front of the lens, I added an invisible supporting skeleton inside the prop, and the outer fur material was also repeatedly combed, requiring someone to assist in adjusting the direction of the tail during shooting. In terms of makeup, a large area of red eyeshadow was blended around the eyes, matched with a red mark on the forehead and tattoo stickers on the arms, trying to highlight that mysterious and enchanting visual experience, and the lipstick was also deliberately chosen in a dark red tone to anchor the overall aura. The shooting location was chosen in a traditional garden with water features. The lighting conditions on the day were very ideal, especially in the afternoon when the sun slanted through the leaves and the water surface, giving an excellent light-and-shadow texture. To capture the golden rim light on the edges of the hair strands and plush props, we heavily used backlighting while using a reflector to fill in light on the front of the face, ensuring that the three-dimensionality of the facial features and catchlights remained clear. This sense of layering in natural light is hard to fully simulate in post-processing. Location shooting is a rigorous test of physical stamina; wearing a red-and-black costume with metal accessories and heavy fur collars, striking various extended poses on rocks by the water, requiring maintaining body balance while managing the spreading of the skirt hem and the extension of the leg lines, demands extremely strong core strength. When posing, I tried to give my limbs richer extension. For example, when sitting on a rock, I used the extension of my thighs to enhance the tension of the frame, gently resting my hand on my knee or shoulder to break the stiffness of the body. This costume uses bright red, pure black, and white as its main tones, making it easily stand out in the natural environment of green trees and clear water. The draping feel of the robe forms a great contrast with the form-fitting inner layer, and during shooting, I also utilized moments when the wind blew to increase the dynamic feel of the frame. Actually, behind the birth of a photoset are countless attempts and adjustments. From the wearing order of the costume, to the fixed positions of the wig and ears, to the exertion of every gaze, everything needs continuous polishing in front of the lens. I personally love this Hsin styling very much; it has both gorgeous heavy-industrial details and a lightweight, agile feel. I hope this set of photos combining natural light and shadow with gorgeous clothing allows everyone to feel the unique charm of the character itself.
