Preparing this red and black gown for Carlotta was full of challenges, especially in adjusting costume details multiple times to match the Cat's Eye Invitation theme.

First, regarding the fabric texture: the main dress uses a crisp, lustrous red material with a sweeping, voluminous skirt that felt truly majestic gliding across the stone paths of the European castle. Because of the sheer volume and multilayered black tulle underneath, we tested the hoop skirt structure repeatedly to ensure a flawless flare during spins. Black bows on the dress and glove embellishments were carefully reinforced prior to the shoot. Fine glitter along the skirt hem caught the setting sun beautifully, adding unexpected sparkle and depth.

For hair and makeup, achieving natural flow and fluffy volume for the long silver-white wig, alongside set styling for the frontal bangs, took considerable effort. The eye makeup used deep burgundy gradients paired with crimson lenses to convey the character's aloof demeanor. To balance facial negative space created by silver-white hair, bottom lashes and fine facial accents were handled meticulously. Completing the look with Black stockings and stilettos brought out that graceful, mysterious presence. However, pairing heels and stockings with a massive gown on stone staircases and terrace railings tested physical endurance—sore ankles at the end of the day were simply the price of art.

Photographically, the angles were remarkably sharp. The close-up leaning against the balustrade highlighted leg lines and bodice tailoring, while low-angle backlighting utilized translucent hair texture as the gown billowed in the wind. For the courtyard twirl shot, capturing the apex flare of the skirt required repeated takes and focus adjustments. In post-processing, I asked the retoucher to preserve the image's luminous clarity and crisp fabric contours without excessive skin-smoothing, maintaining authentic, premium textures for the stockings and red fabric.

The brick masonry and dappled lighting of the European architecture provided an atmospheric backdrop. Placing rich red and black couture against cool stone sculptures and forest foliage delivered vivid visual impact. This Castle exterior photoshoot was my favorite recent creative journey—the sunset light, billowing skirts, and cool gaze converged into the exact Cat's Eye Invitation I envisioned.
