[Denia Cosplay] The Peach Girl from Wuthering Waves

In the early planning stages of this Denia look, I wanted to soften some of the original heaviness and present a visual style that is closer to daily life, carrying a sweet, succulent peach-like vibe through makeup and styling. In choosing the wig, I specially selected gradient strands with a pinkish-white base color and light blue and light pink highlights. Trimming this multi-color mixed rough wig really tested my patience. To recreate the character's iconic high ponytail and ensure a full crown, I teased the hair in layers and added root support. The position of the black silhouette headband on top was also adjusted repeatedly for a long time to ensure no awkwardness from any angle—front, back, left, or right. The blue swirl-patterned hair accessory on the side is the soul of the entire head styling, firmly clipping the curvature of the bangs on both sides to give the overall contour a breathing quality.

For the makeup, this set of photos pursues a translucent, dewy peach glow. For the base makeup, I used a more hydrating foundation liquid than usual and only applied light concealer locally, preserving the native translucent quality as much as possible. The eye makeup focused heavily on pairing with those high-saturation blue colored contacts; to highlight this clear, big-eye effect, I abandoned large areas of dark eyeshadow and instead swept a light pink shimmer across the eyelids, paired with neatly layered false eyelashes and a fine, upturned eyeliner, making the eyes look very dynamic on camera. For the lips, I chose a glossy peach lip glaze, and the slightly blurred edges helped neutralize the anime-style coldness brought by the wig, making the whole look feel more approachable. The blush also took some thought, being swept across a large area of the mid-face and the bridge of the nose, which, paired with the intentionally deepened aegyo-sal, naturally brought out an atmospheric vibe when smiling.

As for the costume matching, I didn't choose the very heavy and gorgeous original combat gear but instead went for a lightweight route that I personally love. The material of this light pink, off-the-shoulder lace top is incredibly soft and delicate, and the wide drop-shoulder sleeves inherently carry a lazy beauty, perfectly revealing the collarbone lines. For the bottom, I paired it with black shorts, with the leg edges and waist adorned with white lace trim, forming a visual contrast of soft and hard textures with the upper body's material. To enrich the layers of the outfit, I casually tied a light-colored plaid shirt around my waist as an accent, breaking the monotony of the upper and lower divide. Since the overall color tone during the shoot leaned toward a dreamy pink and blue, this slightly layered outfit actually suited the "Peach girl" theme much better than the sleek standard uniform.

Regarding the choice of light positioning for this shoot, it was truly the key to the final photos' atmosphere. During the shoot, a cool blue side-rear ambient light was intentionally used, along with a pink main light source for mixed color lighting. This alternating warm and cool lighting method produces a very beautiful halo between the strands of the wig and on the lace texture of the clothes. Especially in photo 4 while resting my chin on my hand, that blue beam of light shining from the side-rear perfectly reflected on the edge of my cheek, making the facial contour look more three-dimensional while neutralizing the puffy feeling that pink tones can easily cause.

In terms of pose guidance, the photographer and I worked together quite a few times. The tongue-poking, head-tilting, and cheek-pinching in photo 2 were to showcase the character's playful and lively side; the forward-stretched hands in photo 3 utilized a wide-angle lens to pull the distance closer, creating an interactive feeling of breaking the fourth wall; photo 4 adopted a sitting pose with the chin resting on the hand, allowing the whole body to relax, which better highlights the clothing details and the stretch of the overall body silhouette. Throughout the process, the hair would slightly displace due to shooting angles and physical movements, but I would quickly comb it through during the intervals between each shot. The starting point of this set of photos was the hope of adding a bit of my own style of daily sweetness while recreating the character's soul, hoping that everyone's viewing experience is relaxing and healing.
