The schedule for my Independent anime convention tour at the Chongqing Dreamland ACG Expo has finally been finalized. From July 24 to 27, I am ready to showcase this meticulously prepared cosplay schedule for four consecutive days at the Chongqing International Expo Center.
I have absolutely no intention of slacking off during these four days, as the character lineup is packed to the brim. For the first day, I chose Chisa; the black-and-white color-blocking combined with bright pink highlights is highly eye-catching. I specially prepared an eye mask with vine textures and a blue-and-white off-the-shoulder long dress. The layered look of the skirt hem opens up very naturally when sitting down. Paired with white over-the-knee socks and matching thick-soled shoes, the overall look is refreshing and clean.
The second day is scheduled for Xishi cosplay from Honor of Kings. This outfit is relatively lightweight, but the aqua-blue sheer top and white high-slit long dress are highly recognizable. The velvet gloves and asymmetrical straps on the legs enhance the character's traits, and the black lace-up structure on the shoes also adds to the three-dimensional feel of the overall costume. When shooting while sitting in a cafe, it blends beautifully with the ambient light.
The third day features the Genshin Impact character Citlali, with long pale blue hair and a full outfit of blue and white light yarn. This costume has a great shimmering texture under everyday light, especially the accessories at the collar and waist, restoring the mysterious exoticism of the Natlan style. To create an ambiance, white flowers and light yarn elements were specifically added to the set, making the frame look clean and crisp.
The final day is Kal'tsit, but this time I tried a warmer, more casual look for a summer vibe. The pink hair is paired with a three-dimensional black, white, and pink patchwork sleeve set and a zippered corset, mixed with both cat ears and elf ears props to give the overall appearance higher recognizability. When holding a pink layered special drink, the overall warm lighting treatment perfectly accommodates the summer atmosphere.
Honestly, going back-to-back for four consecutive days is a test for both physical stamina and makeup schedules. To prevent sweat from causing wig deformation or makeup meltdown, I specifically chose areas with excellent air conditioning coverage inside the Chongqing venue for shooting, and also prepared two sets of styling tools and backup primers in advance. Every single costume underwent an indoor try-on session before departure to ensure there were no loose risks with any clasps or patchwork sections.
Although summer in Chongqing brings scorching heat, the atmosphere at the convention site should offset most of the fatigue. The Chongqing Dreamland ACG Expo happens to coincide with the summer holiday schedule this time. Combined with this year's summer-limited event theme, I feel that these outfits will blend beautifully with the venue's atmosphere, and it's quite a test of my ability to switch between different styling styles for this Summer cosplay trip.
When organizing the photos from these four days, I found that each look had some small details that could be improved, but that is exactly the meaning of accumulating experience through continuous cosplay photo production. Looking forward to the actual shooting results on departure day; for now, I'll save these costumes and makeup photos as a record.
