[Da Qiao Cosplay] Honor of Kings — The Lotus Pond After the Tide Recedes and That Forgotten Name

Stepping into the simulated water area paved with reflective boards, as I touched the reflections on the water's surface, I quickly gathered my scattered thoughts and settled into that serene posture before the camera lens.

The core of this shoot lay in the harmony between makeup and wig. The long reddish-brown braid and that signature curved bang were key to shaping the character's demeanor. To get close to that mysterious and aloof aura, I chose light blue contact lenses; the makeup emphasized elongated eye shapes and red flushes at the outer corners to create a distant yet focused gaze. In terms of hairstyle, the thick braid alongside hidden layering within the hair strands added significant weight and volume to the entire look.

Costume was another major element in creating the atmosphere. This orange-red one-shoulder backless dress features a lightweight sheer gauze outer layer and a lustrous satin inner lining, presenting a flowing water-wave texture under camera flashes. The gold gem-encrusted choker on the neck and the red-tasseled anklet at the ankle were absolute finishing touches; I specifically adjusted the drape angle of the red tassels on the anklet during shooting breaks to ensure they stretched out naturally even while seated, enhancing dynamic fluidity.

The shooting environment was a meticulously arranged indoor set. Large artificial lotus leaves, emerald bamboo on the right, a wooden bridge on the left, and cascading layers of white gauze together constructed a semi-enclosed secret realm. The pink-and-white lotus flower I held in my hands played a very soft color-neutralizing role within the overall red-orange look. While holding it, I intentionally controlled my shoulder height so my arm lines appeared more relaxed in frame, avoiding rigidity from lifting objects.

During the studio shoot process, although the mirrored material simulating water provided superb reflection effects, the extremely slick surface made shifting center of gravity particularly difficult. To keep leg lines from appearing tense on camera, I tried several foot placement pivots—a small detail in Honor of Kings cosplay that takes much thought yet is often overlooked. Photographer @尸王 was excellent at capturing relaxed moments under motion, guiding me to maintain a gentle breathing sense within silence rather than holding my breath frozen like a puppet.

\"In the receding tide, the forgotten name remains silent...\" This thematic title gave this photo set richer narrative tension. As the interpreter of this look, I hoped to convey through this makeup styling and scene presentation that quiet gentleness and depth suspended beneath the water's surface. Shedding constraints of character presets, every studio photoshoot is a re-creation of the character image—from wig trimming to prop holding, all ultimately converging into that single frame.

Postscript: When hanging the dress on the rack to air out after the shoot, I noticed a bit of gold glitter stuck along the edge of the collar. These real traces lingering on skin are perhaps among the most memorable parts of behind-the-scenes moments.
