[Cirno Cosplay] The Ice Fairy in the Rain-Swept Hydrangea Bushes

This outdoor shoot happened to catch a rain shower, and the water droplets on the transparent umbrella became a natural filter. Originally, I was worried that the light on a rainy day wouldn't be transparent enough, but the actual shoot revealed that the damp hydrangeas and the deep green backdrop of the bamboo forest actually made the light blue hair and white skirt hem stand out even more.

This costume has a lot of details, especially the white pom-poms on the cuffs and the red heart on the chest. To recreate the character's playful vibe, I specially chose a relatively glossy satin fabric when coordinating, which creates natural folding reflections when walking.

The crystal wings on the back were the difficult point of this look. To ensure iridescent refraction under outdoor natural light, I stacked multiple layers of transparent acrylic sheets and fixed them with fine metal wires, so that holding an umbrella wouldn't affect the balance of the wings.

For makeup, I used cool pink-toned eyeshadow and light blue contact lenses to echo the overall color scheme, and the slight blush under the eyes was to add a cute, "frozen-red" complexion. During the shoot, the rain kept stopping and starting. To catch the snapshot of water droplets hanging on the umbrella surface about to drip, the photographer and I repeatedly adjusted angles, ultimately selecting this frame with the most natural expression for our transparent umbrella photography session.

In the Touhou Project setting, this character always carries confidence and a bit of smugness, so I intentionally held back my smile and used a calmer gaze to show that composure of "I know I am very powerful." This hydrangea outdoor location shoot took two weeks of preparation from styling to shooting, including manually adjusting the curvature of the wings, testing transparency under different lighting, and scouting the blooming time of the hydrangeas in advance.

Although the rain increased the difficulty of moving equipment, the damp atmosphere in the final photos is completely irreplaceable by a studio shoot. I hope everyone can feel this cool vibe belonging to a late summer rainy day, and I hope my makeup and prop details did not disappoint the cute setting of the original work.
