Upon receiving this Azure Spirit Dream outfit, the immediate impression was how substantial the fabric felt—far from any flimsy or cheap textile. The bodice is styled in a washed-texture blue, framed by an oversized beige lace collar along the neckline detailed with gold embroidery and fine pleating. To support the tiered voluminous puff skirt beneath, I wore a petticoat; while it took up considerable room walking around, the three-dimensional flare of the hem was flawless. The skirt itself blends spliced panels of blue and beige, with the outermost blue fabric printed with botanical and geometric motifs that dance in and out of view with each step, creating rich visual depth.

The headwear is a true centerpiece of this styling: an enormous blue ribbon bow with cascading ribbons draped on both flanks, immediately seizing attention. For the wig, I selected long straight black tresses with blunt bangs; paired with crimson contact lenses, the character's aura materialized instantly. The makeup remained clean rather than heavy, focusing primarily on the eyes to evoke an enigmatic presence. The custom long-handled staff prop—a dark wooden wand wrapped in blue and translucent satin ribbons, accented with delicate blossoms and bead strings—imparted a dignified ceremonial grace when raised before the lens.

The greatest challenge within the Chengdu Anime Convention hall was undoubtedly the illumination. Overhead venue lighting was bright yet notoriously flat, easily casting harsh facial shadows. To avoid muddy facial contours, the photographer scouted corners offering directional illumination, leveraging ambient circular ceiling fixtures in the background to build spatial depth. Highly experienced, the photographer guided me to twirl and lift my skirt hem to inject dynamic motion into the frames. To freeze the skirt's parabolic sweep at peak flare, I executed multiple spins and hem lifts, exploring diverse angles across both full-body and half-body shots to achieve these deeply satisfying results.

Footwear featured dramatic platform geta clogs detailed with dark floral prints and ribbon bows. While harmonizing effortlessly with the overall aesthetic, pacing the convention floor in them all day left the soles of my feet aching. The detached bell sleeves were another standout detail: tiered layers of beige fabric trimmed with blue lace and ribbons that draped with airy grace whenever I raised an arm.

I met many fellow Touhou Project enthusiasts at the convention, exchanging insights on tailoring and prop fabrication. The entire Event photo delivery process went smoothly, with the chromatic harmony and detail fidelity of this Azure Spirit Dream look fully meeting my expectations. Every cosplay endeavor—from pre-shoot wardrobe prep and makeup trials to live synergy with the photographer—demands endless patience. Capturing these moments at the Chengdu Anime Convention was a joy, and I look forward to taking this costume to suitable outdoor locations for future shoots.
