[Odette cosplay] Genshin Impact fantasy blue-themed outfit real-scene photography sharing - Image 1

A lot of thought went into this Odette cosplay from the very beginning of custom-making. Character designs in Genshin Impact are always full of a sense of fantasy, and this blue-themed outfit matches the character's setting very well, while also being a style I've always wanted to try. Choosing to shoot in a retro European-style real-scene studio was mainly because the dark wooden cabinets and blue curtains here could set off the texture of the dress.

The clothing itself has many details. The blue-and-white color blocking of the bodice plus golden borders, a cutout design at the waist, and a red gemstone embellished on the side. The skirt hem is layered, with outer white tulle and inner blue fabric, creating a very good sense of layering when walking. Long white gloves and blue arm sleeves were worn on the arms, and the strappy shoes on the feet extend upwards in a crisscross pattern, matching the overall design very well. To match this styling, I specially chose a light grayish-blue wig, adding small white hair accessories on top of the head to look closer to the character's temperament.

Some subtraction was done in terms of makeup because the clothing is eye-catching enough. The eyeshadow uses pink tones, which look softer matching the wig color, and the lip color was also chosen to be a more natural style. During the shoot, I sat on the carpet, supporting the ground with one hand and playing with my hair with the other. This posture not only naturally showcased the wrinkles of the skirt hem but also displayed the waist curve and leg lines. The white stockings have a great texture and don't look awkward paired with these strappy shoes.

Lighting was a big challenge during the studio shoot. The floor lamp with a metal bracket on the right is warm-lit and has a great texture when hitting the body, but the cool-toned natural light filtering through the background curtains was on the other side. The contrast between warm and cool can increase the three-dimensional sense of the frame. The photographer kept adjusting the camera position, trying to let the floor lamp's light outline the edges of the dress while keeping the facial makeup clean.

This outfit actually has some limitations in movement, especially when sitting; if you aren't careful, the waist cutouts and skirt layers will pile up together. During shooting breaks, I was always adjusting the position of the clothes to ensure that every captured state was relaxed and unfolded. The long gloves also slip down easily and need to be pulled up from time to time.

The whole shoot took about three hours. From the set design to the styling, and finally finishing up, although the process was tiring, getting the final photos made everything feel worth it. The collision of this European retro scene with anime cosplay yielded visual effects even better than expected.
