Diving straight in, today I'm sharing the behind-the-scenes details of this official Jahoda cosplay photoshoot. Jahoda is the sole official employee of the Curatorium of Secrets in Genshin Impact, as well as a Bounty hunter wandering the alleys of Nod-Krai. To faithfully recreate this character, I dedicated substantial effort to preparing the costume and props. Starting with head styling, the cat-eared cap and pink goggles are among her most eye-catching hallmarks. I specifically chose coated lenses with reflective finishes for the goggles, which rendered wonderful texture under studio lights. For those golden loop-shaped braided buns, I tested several different fastening techniques to ensure they retained structural volume without feeling weighed down, and the result was thoroughly satisfying—staying locked in place without coming undone throughout the shoot.
The outfit features intense dimensional layering: a white sleeveless base combined with a black leather underbust corset, strapped with various belts and metallic buckles. To ensure a snug fit that didn't compromise mobility, I tweaked the placement of the rear lacing. The short capelet draped over the left shoulder features an irregular jagged sawtooth hem, its pink lining billowing naturally when walking or crouching to add dynamic flair. The massive golden mechanical gauntlet on the right arm was the centerpiece of the whole ensemble. Carrying noticeable weight, maintaining it hoisted or steady at specific angles required disciplined core control. I also gave the blue and pink graffiti details on the gauntlet dedicated texturing, balancing hefty metallic presence with playful, nonchalant street-graffiti personality. Her Purrfect Secret Stash flask hanging at the hip was faithfully recreated, lending complete unity to the coordinate.
The lower-body styling is equally packed with nuances. The black shorts feature matching jagged hems, paired with an asymmetrical leg design: the right leg sporting distressed black pantyhose (Stockings cosplay) accented by strappy thigh rings, and the left leg styled with a white tall boot cover. This deliberate asymmetry perfectly channels her bold, carefree spirit. In shots two and four, I chose seated and low-crouching postures, which not only accentuated leg lines and stocking textures, but fully released the visual tension of the mechanical arm. In the shot seated on the glass desk, resting my chin in hand, I sought to capture her serene reverie while spacing out at the entrance of the Curatorium of Secrets. Even though she usually appears boisterous, dashing between commissions for Mora or furiously sprinting when clients get swindled, she retains an intimate inner world in moments of stillness. With the wind at her command, she sweeps across the battlefield like a swift shadow, yet can summon her cat-shaped coordinator to heal allies' wounds—this gap-moe contrast was what I most wanted to express before the lens.
The studio backdrop was staged with firearms and an office desk, helping me immerse into character effortlessly. Whether dropping to one knee atop display cases or standing hands-on-hips, I strove to strike a rhythm blending professional composure with spunky swagger. This shoot was an absolute blast; the synergy between costume craftsmanship and props allowed me to slide into character immediately, and I hope this set fully conveys Jahoda's free-spirited, resilient essence.
