[Yang Yuhuan cosplay] Honor of Kings: Spring Whispers on Silver Wings Styling Share

The key focus of this photoshoot for Yang Yuhuan's Spring Whispers on Silver Wings was capturing the poetic essence of 'clouds evoke her robes, and flowers her face.' The entire shoot took quite a long time because the costume is packed with intricate details. The primary palette consists of purple and silver-white. The neckline features a halter design adorned with numerous metallic silver components and intricate cut-out patterns. The shoulders and detached sleeves combine purple cloth with semi-sheer fabrics and silver metal rings, offering a dramatic draped look. The silver greaves on the calves are made of rigid material; they felt rather tight around the shins, requiring careful steps while walking to avoid scratches.

For hair and makeup, I paired a light silver-gray wig with purple eye makeup and selected grayish-purple color contacts to fit that aloof yet opulent, ethereal aura. The real challenge lay in the prop: the pipa lute in my hands was quite heavy. The pegbox had an intricate branch-like silhouette, and the spiral carvings on the soundboard were extremely delicate, requiring precise angles while holding it to show off its depth and layering on camera.

The sitting posture in the first photo looks graceful, but actually demanded engaging my core to keep my center of gravity steady, while simultaneously relaxing my shoulders and neck to highlight the instrument's contours. The photographer used softboxes to distribute light evenly, paying special attention to the metallic silver reflections—preserving highlight details without washing out the subtle jacquard patterns on the fabric. Rather than just replicating poses, I wanted to convey the character's poised, unhurried demeanor through subtle facial expressions.

In the third photo, I tried a reclining side pose, accompanied by a wooden table, a celadon vase with pink blossoms, and a small teacup in hand. This pose had strict demands regarding fabric creases, and it was only finalized after adjusting my leg extension several times. In post-processing, the cool and warm tones were unified, and ambient stray light in the background was cleaned up to keep the frame pristine, focusing attention on the purple fabric textures and facial nuances. Overall, from costume quality to prop fidelity, this shoot achieved our intended vision, making it a truly solid cosplay photoshoot experience in controlling light and fine detail.
