The final cosplay photos for Amiya's "Ephemeral Azure Thunder" skin from Arknights are finally out. The overall look focuses on the bunny ear headpiece and the blue-and-white bunny maid outfit, with the twin-tails setting making the character look highly energetic. The shape of the bunny ears headpiece underwent repeated adjustments to make it look naturally three-dimensional. The costume has numerous details: the neckline is tied with a red-and-blue fine satin ribbon, embellished with a small necklace. The prominent red bow at the waist, along with the layered ruffles on the cuffs and skirt hem, creates an excellent dynamic effect when walking around.
To match the refreshing atmosphere of this outfit, the shooting location was selected in an outdoor courtyard filled with greenery. The background features large clusters of blue hydrangeas, lush ferns, and a white wooden structure, beautifully echoing the character's lightness. For the props, the woven rattan basket and the snack bags in my hands were a spontaneous addition, but unexpectedly, they brought quite a slice-of-life vibe. In several photos where I was wandering around with a snack bag, my friends joked that it looked like a free advertisement for Oishi, adding a touch of down-to-earth playfulness to the originally ethereal style.
The photographer and I tried different compositions and postures during the shoot, showcasing a gentle side while quietly sitting on a wooden chair, an agile demeanor while standing by the flowers with a basket, a playful state standing on one leg, or hand-shaded snapshots looking into the distance. To capture the character's gaze without looking too rigid, I had to let out both the determination and gentleness belonging to her, along with a touch of bunny cuteness. The makeup colors were bright and clear, focusing on the eyes to make the gaze look more translucent. The wig was specifically chosen in chestnut brown, and its fluffiness was critical to tie into beautiful curves for the twin-tails. We primarily utilized natural light during the shoot, especially the soft afternoon side-backlighting that gave a faint halo to the hair strands and skirt hem. The photographer intentionally avoided cluttered backgrounds, using a large aperture to blur the distant buildings and foliage, which concentrated the visual focus on the figure. While posing, I also paid extra attention to the unfolding of the skirt hem and the relaxation of my hand movements; for instance, when leaning against the white bench, I tried to keep my body lines looking stretched and natural. In fact, every outdoor shoot comes with insect and weather issues, but this time went quite smoothly, and there were many fun behind-the-scenes anecdotes behind the beautiful photos. Achieving the current results from the costume and wig to the shoot is inseparable from the dedicated preparation of everyone in the team. I hope everyone can feel that splash of color from a garden afternoon conveyed through these photos.
