This shoot selected a very special Hatsune Miku qipao look. Compared to her iconic standard formula costume, this modernized qipao integrating traditional Chinese elements brings a completely different feeling visually. The entire outfit is based on pink and white tones, with fine red-and-white wave and auspicious cloud textures on the surface. The overall style possesses 2D sweetness without losing the dignified elegance unique to a qipao.

Let's talk about costume details first. This is a high-slit modernized style that retains the stand collar and frog button design of a traditional qipao, while featuring a small musical note pendant at the chest, cleverly echoing the character's musical traits in detail. To balance shoot visual effects and movement convenience, a white pleated miniskirt inner layer was worn as a anti-exposure base, while light yellow large flower decorations accent the side waist, making the visual transition between upper and lower body more natural. This cut of a long gown with high slits heavily tests figure proportions, but it's also a major plus for this type of look.

Regarding hair, makeup, and accessories, instead of a complex hairstyle, Hatsune Miku's signature teal-blue long twin tails were restored, secured on both sides with red ribbons and light yellow flower accessories, with neat smooth bangs preserving the character's pure essence. To enrich the layering of the full-body outfit, I put thought into accessories: wearing multi-layered pearl necklaces on my neck, a pearl bracelet on my wrist, and even a pearl anklet specifically added at the ankle, echoing the white platform Mary Jane high heels to form a fusion of retro and refreshing style overall.

The lighting on the shooting day adopted high-key lighting with a pure white background. The biggest benefit of this soft photo studio lighting is making the skin appear exceptionally fair and translucent, while also preserving costume color brightness and fabric texture details. Because this look focuses on a light and agile feel, several props were deliberately used during posing, such as a pink lace folding fan and a pink round fan with tassels, bringing dynamic motion to the frame through hand gestures. Especially those single-leg lifting poses, which were done specifically to highlight the leg line extension brought by the skirt's high slits, paired with White stockings, making it both slimming and boosting the character's delicate appeal.

This look actually placed quite a few requirements on photo editing as well. Because the qipao color is light, controlling highlights is crucial so that fabric details aren't lost due to bright exposure. Post-processing focused on unifying skin tone and outfit warmth/coolness, giving the overall atmosphere a soft and dreamy texture. When shooting this set, I also deliberately tried several different angles and poses, like holding a fan looking back from the front, or turning sideways to display the tassel combinations, striving to show the 3D depth of the front bodice, back, and skirt hem as much as possible. Every time I shoot a theme combining 2D and Chinese style, it feels wonderfully refreshing—allowing one to feel both the character's own charm and the inclusivity of traditional clothing elements. The final results came out very clear, clean, and in my favorite color scheme, making it a very enjoyable shoot experience.
