The stone railing in the night, the warm yellow background light—tonight's shoot caught the perfect moment. When I changed into this exclusive Fatui Harbinger uniform, my first thought was actually, "This skirt is so richly layered!" But standing in front of the lens, highlighted by the flash and the background lights, all the fabric draping and accessory details actually became bonus points for the frame.

The location for this outdoor shoot was a terrace with European vintage railings. After 8 PM, the distant buildings lit up with massive golden light strips, creating beautiful out-of-focus bokeh circles that cleanly separated the dark night sky from the cool-toned foreground. The photographer used a large aperture to ensure my face stayed sharp while blurring the lights behind me into soft circles. The overall atmosphere is much stronger than a daytime shoot, which also fits the character of the Marionette—exquisite yet slightly detached.

Regarding the accuracy of the costume, I tried my best to correspond every detail: the white ruffled hair accessory on my head was manually adjusted for its curvature, and the ruby ornament at the neckline used electroplated metal, reflecting a bit of shimmer under the flash. The detached sleeves feature a velvet-like fabric with subtle patterns, so the natural movement of my arms wouldn't look stiff during the cosplay photography. The skirt utilizes three layers of tiered tulle, and the high-low asymmetrical cut nicely reveals the leg lines in both sitting and standing poses. The white tights paired with the chunky heels featuring black bases and red bows are my absolute favorite part of the look; the heel height perfectly accentuates the calf proportions and isn't too tiring to walk in.

The shooting process was actually easier than expected because the railing was at the right height. Sitting on it allowed my legs to dangle naturally without having to strike exhausting poses. For the first and third photos, I tried raising a hand as a gesture and looking into the distance, but when picking the cover photo, I still felt the second one—sitting straight with hands naturally folded on my knees—looked the most stable. With my gaze slightly spaced out, it created a quiet sense of dialogue with the warm background light. For the makeup, I intentionally elongated my eyeliner and wore bright blue contact lenses. Combined with the silver-white wig, it presented a cool-toned texture under the artificial night lights, forming a color-block contrast with the overall red, white, and black attire.

Honestly, the greatest joy of cosplay is not the final photos, but the moment of "becoming someone else" right then and there. Standing on a high place in this outfit, feeling the night breeze, with occasional passersby catching a glimpse of the fill lights from afar and looking over curiously—that instant immersion feels incredibly real. We did encounter a minor issue with uneven lighting during the process, but luckily we brought two portable fill lights. Adding a bit of rim light from the side brought back the layers on the face and cuffs nicely. Post-processing was minimal, mainly unifying the color temperature and darkening the messy dark surroundings to make the subject more prominent.

This anime-style clothing took quite a lot of thought from the final design to production, and then to try-on adjustments, but being able to shoot a photo set I'm satisfied with makes all the hard work worth it. I hope this darker, more serene night view cosplay style allows everyone to see a different side of the character.
