[Ye Shunguang Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Sunlight Is a Truly Touchable Warmth

For this set of Ye Shunguang Cosplay photos from Zenless Zone Zero, photographed by Shaobing, the natural lighting conditions on the day of the shoot were truly fantastic. We picked a spot by a wooden railing near the water in a park, using a dense patch of lush green leaves as a foreground frame. It effectively blocked a portion of direct light to create natural dappled shadows, while crafting a comfortable color contrast with the red-and-white outfit I wore.

To align with Ye Shunguang's bright and warm character traits, I intentionally tilted my face slightly sideways when positioning myself, letting the top sunlight hit the edges of my hair strands. Combined with the light tea-brown wig and well-layered bangs, it created a natural golden rim light that gave the entire styling a lovely sense of breathing room. The outfit's collar featured many intricate details like ruffles and heart-shaped cutouts, with the red-and-white palette looking remarkably vibrant under the sun, while the white-and-green beaded bracelet on my wrist served as a perfect visual accent in this color scheme.

In terms of makeup, to convey the character's translucent gaze, we focused on red blending around the eyes, paired with reddish-brown contact lenses and delicate false eyelashes, keeping the eyes sharp and expressive even under bright light. Meanwhile, the wig styling was kept light and layered rather than heavy or bulky, fitting the contours of my cheeks so it looked airy and soft in the gentle breeze.

Outdoor photography differs greatly from studio shoots, relying heavily on the photographer's sensitivity to light and shadow. Shaobing had a very clear framing approach in this set, essentially adjusting the lens along the flow of light. This allowed my poses to remain natural and relaxed without stiff posturing; simply raising a hand or turning slightly sideways captured highly atmospheric shots.

In color grading, we intentionally preserved the high saturation of the vibrant green leaves and avoided over-whitening skin tones, retaining warm highlights from ambient light to showcase the character's authentic texture under real sunlight. As gusts of wind blew occasionally on the shooting day, the leaves in front of the lens swayed gently; these genuine dynamics combined with natural light were far more vivid than fan and lighting simulations inside a studio.

Although portraying Ye Shunguang doesn't require overly dramatic or brooding expressions, conveying her inner brightness—something even warmer, resilient, yet gentle than sunlight—while staying naturally relaxed proved quite a test for expression control. I maintained a relatively peaceful slight expression, fitting the character's aura through my gaze, hoping this set allows viewers to feel that natural, vivid, and warm Sunlight portrait ambiance. Portraying this character truly boosts one's mood, capturing a glimpse into Coser daily life and the true charm of cosplay.
