This photoshoot features Ibuki Suika from Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy. The texture of the dark patterns on the purple kimono and the red-and-black color-blocking design perfectly fit the setting of the Oni clan. To restore the character's casual yet restrained nature, we specially added weight to the chain props. Although heavy to hold, moving around with them actually brought out a unique, tipsy yet powerful temperament. The iconic large horns on her head and that purple wine gourd are the core elements of Suika. The shoot was chosen under a blooming cherry blossom tree, utilizing the afternoon natural light filtering through the flower branches to create a beautiful layer of light and shadow.

Regarding the posing, the focus was on the interaction with the wine bowl; I tried the angles of raising the bowl or holding the gourd repeatedly, attempting to capture that nonchalant yet arrogant ambiance. The venue borrowed the roof of a Japanese-style wooden building, utilizing the staggered heights of the steps and tiles to enhance the depth of the frame. For the makeup, the red blending at the outer corners of the eyes was intentionally emphasized, paired with an orange wig, conveying the character's love for drinking yet dominant sense of majesty through the gaze. The paper seals and gourd details handcrafted by the prop team were also very meticulous.

Honestly, the hardest part of capturing Suika's character is the contrast of looking relaxed but actually being dangerous. While climbing the roof on a wooden ladder during the shoot, I also had to adjust my state. Ultimately, the cherry blossoms, wine bowl, and chains combined in the final frame successfully restored the enchanting moment of the character drinking alone under the blossoms, making it a wonderful milestone for my Cosplay daily life as a Touhou Project fan who loves a Japanese-style photoshoot.
