Putting on this iconic red-and-white shrine maiden outfit and holding up a crimson paper umbrella, the atmosphere is dialed to the max the moment the talismans scatter in the wind. The location for this night portrait shoot was chosen on the stone steps in front of the shrine's torii gate. The surrounding stone lanterns emitted a dim, warm yellow glow, forming a wonderful warm-and-cool contrast with the red-and-white costume illuminated by the camera flash.

Regarding the costume, the massive red bow on top of my head is highly recognizable, instantly bringing out the character's playful vibe when paired with the twin-tails. The multi-layered white lace ruffles on the cuffs and skirt hem look incredibly dynamic when the movements get a bit larger. Although there was a slight chill in the night air, to capture the effect of talismans floating in mid-air, I repeatedly walked up and down the steps several times, trying to capture the exact split second of raising my hand to scatter the paper charms. The photographer was extremely patient in capturing the shots with the talismans suspended in the air. Combined with our lighting, it made these charms look as if they truly possessed spiritual energy.

As a cosplayer who strives for accuracy, whenever I prepare for a shoot of this theme in Anime-style photography, what I value most are the props and costume details. The skeleton and surface patterns of the paper umbrella, along with the subtle reflection of the golden bowtie, are the crowning touches of the entire look. Especially for night shoots, the distribution of light directly dictates the texture of the photos. Set against the backdrop of the red torii gate, the deep blue night sky makes this splash of red and white stand out exceptionally well, appearing both sharp and filled with a mysterious aura.

This time, I carbon-copied some action-oriented poses. The balance required for standing on one leg while holding an umbrella was actually quite hard to master, but the resulting photos turned out beautifully. The photographer's guidance allowed me to relax in front of the lens, moving away from rigid posing and into the character's casual and independent state. Although the shooting process was tough, every click of the shutter was entirely worth it. I hope that through this set of photos, I can bring everyone some visual enjoyment and share my own interpretation of this character.
