This time, I'm bringing you an Eleg cosplay from Goddess of Victory: Nikke. For this photo set, early preparations focused heavily on the weight balance of the gear and the fit of the outfit. The massive yellow-and-black main weapon with glowing green parts and the cylindrical thruster on the back were made of solid materials and felt quite hefty. Posing with them required constant exertion from my hands and shoulders just to maintain the right angles. On the costume side, the red-and-black straps and the thigh garters demanded a lot in terms of waist, abdominal, and leg contours. Because the top inherently exposes the midriff, pairing it with the thigh straps highlighted body curves and fullness very effectively. For posing, I deliberately chose the deep squat looking over the shoulder as the cover shot, as this posture maximized the layered look of the thigh rings, waistline, and back ribbons. Combined with ground smoke and a dark backdrop, the green illuminated elements on the props stood out strikingly in the shadows. During the shoot, reflections off the underground garage or venue floor added a great touch to the frame, though kneeling bare-legged on hard ground for long periods was tough on the knees. Adjusting center of gravity and localized muscle tension was essential to deliver the right impact. In terms of lighting, the photographer intentionally darkened the background, spotlighting only the yellow mechanical armor and glowing elements to create a sharp visual contrast between cold hardness and soft curves, doing our best to faithfully capture the character's true 2D charm.
