[Guizhong Cosplay] Genshin Impact Character Restoration, Silver-White Silk Exudes Classic Xianxia Style

The Guizhong cosplay I prepared for so long is finally meeting everyone.

The character Guizhong carries a strong sense of Eastern poetry and classical charm in Genshin Impact's lore, so I have always wanted to restore that synthesis of elegance and divinity in her through my own way. Much effort went into selecting fabrics and tailoring the finished outfit this time, including picking accessories; every single step needed to consider expressing the character's temperament.

The entire costume uses silver-white jacquard silk as its main fabric, a material that presents a delicate, silk-like luster under lighting, with cloud patterns faintly visible on its surface to convey a high-end feel. The black inner layer forms a strong color contrast with the silver-white outer robe, while the neckline and off-shoulder cut accentuate the neck and shoulder lines without making the outfit look heavy or cumbersome. The cyan geometric ring buckle and long tassel pendant at the waist are the finishing touches, breaking up the seriousness of the black and silver main palette to add a touch of agility and vitality.

The sleeve design serves as the visual focus of the entire outfit—broad, highly flowing double-layered water sleeves. Mastering these water sleeves during the shoot tested physical force control; slightly lifting arms or turning around naturally carried the sleeves into beautiful, flowing shapes. For hair, I paired a fluffy light silver-gray wig with airy bangs, while the cyan-patterned geometric hair accessory and long white tassels on the side stood out brilliantly, reaching complete visual unity with the costume's color scheme and overall style.

Set design for this shoot was also thoughtfully considered. The translucent white background curtains were printed with scattered cursive Chinese calligraphy, an artistic prop element. Combined with dark solid wood Chinese classical chairs and a guqin prop in the foreground, the space instantly conjured an ethereal atmosphere suited for ancient scholars or hermetic immortals.

During the photography phase, diffuse soft box lights illuminated the subject, avoiding harsh contrast shadows from hard light and preserving the fabric's metallic luster while giving skin a translucent, tender look on camera. I alternated between various poses while shooting: standing required stretching limbs to let water sleeves drape naturally or flutter in the wind, paired with a slight head tilt to embody an ethereal, lighthearted celestial feel. Seated poses emphasized composure, resting the body's center of gravity naturally on the wooden chair to tilt body lines slightly, fitting costume tailoring to human curves while focusing the camera on the eyes to convey a cool yet approachable expression.

For makeup, I kept it clean and translucent, focusing on eye contours and depth complemented by natural reddish lip color, ensuring facial features paired with light hair didn't appear pale or bland. Moreover, since the outfit exposed some skin, there were requirements for posture and muscle lines, leading me to make basic physical adjustments prior to shooting.

Though the entire process involved many twists and turns, seeing the final work present a serene ancient style photography aesthetic with a cinematic showcase of the character's demeanor made it deeply satisfying. This photo set records my understanding of Guizhong, hoping to convey through imagery the Eastern aesthetics belonging to the world of Genshin Impact.
