This Illya cosplay outfit—combining a purple top with a white pleated skirt—looks simple at first glance but is packed with subtle details. Holding a half-squat with raised fists left my arms aching and legs numb, but seeing the final photos made every second worthwhile. To faithfully recreate the character, I preserved all the gold cross accents and the pink bow tie, which nicely brightened the deep purple palette. Hair and makeup-wise, aligning the contacts and trimming the wig bangs were key hurdles; Master Dong and I adjusted angles repeatedly to capture that sharp, direct gaze into the lens. We deliberately utilized contrasting pink and teal background lights—one warm and one cool—to beautifully complement the reflections on the purple and white fabrics. As an indoor photography session, the primary goal was capturing natural interactivity with the camera. The kitten perspective proved to be an inspired choice: simulating a kitten crouching or curiously peeking made the poses feel lively and engaging. For anyone planning to shoot this character, make sure your bow tie is neatly arranged, and watch out for harsh shadows on the purple top under strong light—using a reflector is highly recommended. I also paired the outfit with matching purple round-toe shoes to maintain cohesive color harmony.
