After getting this Phoebe Cosplay costume in hand, I've always wanted to find a clean place to shoot a set. The pure white seamless background studio shoot happens to highlight the layered sense of the blue and white outfit itself. This outfit has quite a lot of details: the upper body is a white long-sleeve shirt with loose flared ruffle cuffs, and the neckline and chest feature a blue sailor uniform stripe design. The huge bow with light blue vertical stripes right in the middle is the finishing touch and a place that needs special adjustment when wearing it; it needs to be made crisp so it doesn't look lifeless. The lower body is a multi-layered spliced short skirt alternating white, light blue, and dark blue, with delicate white lace trim along the skirt hem, and the arc of the skirt spreading out when walking or sitting looks very nice.
The wig part requires some effort. After putting on the golden long curly wig, the fluffiness of the top and sides needs to be repeatedly combed. To match the beret, I styled part of the hair into a double-bun-like shape so that the hat would be more stable. The hat is blue, with a small bow and a white daisy on the side. The black chain choker on the neck was adjusted to a suitable tightness, which can modify the neck line without looking too abrupt. The makeup emphasizes purple-pink contact lenses and reddish-pink eyeshadow, with light pink chosen for the lip color. Overall, I wanted to get close to that doll-like texture, so the base makeup was applied very fair and clean.
During the shoot, a wicker picnic basket and a few bunches of white daisies with yellow stamens were used as props. The basket was lined with white fabric featuring lace borders, and whether carrying it with the lid closed or placing it aside, it looks very photogenic. Since I wasn't wearing shoes, only wearing white short socks with blue ribbon bows tied at the cuff, against the pure white background, the foot details also appeared very light and agile.
Shooting sitting poses actually tests core abdominal strength and physical coordination a lot. For the first set of movements, I tried holding the hat brim with my left hand, naturally supporting the ground with my right hand, and slightly bending my legs, which can stabilize the body's center of gravity. The second set of movements involved holding the basket with both hands, leaning the upper body slightly forward, and looking straight into the lens. When shooting the third set, I clasped my hands together in front of my chest, showing a slightly praying or hopeful expression. Later, I changed to a pose of holding the hat with my right hand and letting the left hand hang down naturally, with one leg extended and one leg bent, making the skirt hem present different folding states while placing the flower basket beside me. The last set featured crossed and bent legs, with the right hand resting on the chest. During the shoot, the photographer kept reminding me to pay attention to the angles of the knees and insteps, stretching as much as possible towards the lens, so that even while sitting, it can visually elongate the leg lines. Because the skirt hem is relatively short, coupled with multi-layered lace, one must pay attention to arranging the skirt when sitting down to avoid accidental exposure while maintaining a natural look.
Overall after shooting, the fabric of this outfit is slightly thick, but the cut is very good and won't sag softly. The combination of blue and white has a very clear contrast under strong light. From the placement of props, grooming of the wig to the adjustment of sitting posture angles, every final photo was finalized after multiple attempts. The effect of this set of photos is quite fresh, with the blue-and-white color scheme plus blonde hair making it visually very bright.
