[Inaba Meguru Cosplay] Sabbat of the Witch: A School Uniform Style Afternoon Outdoor Photoshoot

This set of Inaba Meguru photos was chosen to be shot by an outdoor roadside in the afternoon. The road surface features yellow-and-black road cones and metal railings, giving the overall environment a casual yet somewhat empty street vibe. First, regarding the costume part, this outfit coordination is highly classic. The upper body features a loose light pink and grey-white color-blocked raglan baseball jacket. The fabric is relatively soft, creating a casual and comfortable daily atmosphere. Inside the jacket, it is paired with a dark blue sailor-style collar tie with white stripe details on the collar, forming a consistent echo with the hair accessories. A very long light beige tassel scarf hangs around the neck, with the tassel part draping naturally, adding warm-toned layers to the overall look, making it a very suitable shooting prop when the outdoor wind gets a bit stronger.

As for the wig, I used a light pink long curly hair style, with the hair tips thinned out and treated with a C-curl to keep a certain sense of airiness in its natural state without looking stiff. The hair accessory is a dark blue bow with a white border clipped to the left side of the hair. This position beautifully balances the overall color palette, preventing the large area of pink from looking too monotonous. For makeup, to match the character's school vibe, I chose a rather clear base makeup. The eye makeup uses earth tones for the base, emphasizing the hair-stroke texture of the upper and lower eyelashes. The eyeliner isn't pulled very long, and combined with light-colored contact lenses, the overall eyes look more spirited and innocent.

During the shoot, I experimented with four different postures to showcase the character's temperament. The turning-back motion captured a casual sense of randomness, while the playful single-handed gesture was to display the character's slightly tsundere yet highly healing personality. For the cover, I selected the third full-body photo standing on one leg and bending it backward, because this photo can showcase full body proportions. The black over-the-knee socks paired with deep brown uniform loafer shoes manifest a bright schoolgirl vibe, and the composition places the figure right in the center, with the road cones and railings behind softly blurred so they won't steal the focus from the subject.

Actually, before shooting this set of photos, I revisited some plot settings about Inaba Meguru in the original work. Her personality has a very gentle side, while also being a bit clumsy. Therefore, I tried my best to avoid an overly exaggerated staged look in my expressions and actions, hoping to present more of her relaxed, authentic appearance at school. The green tree shadows by the roadside were stretched long by the sun, and the light peeking through the leaves hit the jacket, forming very comfortable soft light spots. The photographer's guidance also helped a lot. For example, that action of closing one eye in image 2 was intended to create a sense of interaction and a lively atmosphere. The bottom left corner of the frame slightly incorporates the edge of a Polaroid or phone viewfinder, which instead adds a touch of real life-recording authenticity. The shooting process wasn't very fast; we even touched up the makeup a few times midway because the wind blew the bangs out of place, tidying up the bangs and the scarf's tassels. However, it is precisely these minor details that enriched the anime-style photography experience. Being able to wear the clothes of a favorite character and leave these images in a real environment is a very interesting thing.
