Regarding this black dress set, it was actually a dark elf style concept I decided on early in pre-production. In terms of overall color scheme, I deliberately avoided common bright hues, adopting large areas of black lace jacquard fabric as the core. Though light-absorbing, this material makes it easier to convey a high-end matte texture. Paired with draped black starry tulle on the outside and purple paneling on the inside layer, the overall aura instantly transforms into something mysterious. Of course, to keep it from feeling overly somber, my pink short hair and a pair of pointed elf ears serve as perfect accents; this collision of warm and cool tones reinforces the character's lively yet enigmatic charm.
The set design for this shoot chose European Roman columns and withered trees, creating a cold grey and white environment that perfectly accents the black costume. During shooting, I experimented with different camera distances, including relaxed seated poses and close-up portraits. In the close-up shots, I deliberately placed a finger against my lips and stared directly into the lens, aiming to convey a languid yet alluring emotion that fully releases the radiance in my eyes and the deepness of the blue contact lenses.
Speaking of costume details, I really have to praise the outfit. The large pink flower at the waist and gold star decorations not only break up the monotony of the black palette but also add a touch of gorgeous romance. The black gloves I wore are semi-translucent lace paneling, a material that prevents hands from looking bulky while adding a hazy, subtle beauty with every movement. For shoes, I selected black patent leather high heels; the block heel and platform design elongate leg proportions during standing poses while giving stronger structural support to the look.
As for the black tulle, it can be called one of the soul props of this entire set. I tried controlling it by hand to present two states: one draped quietly, and the other soaring in the air. The photographer understood my vision completely, capturing many dynamic moments of flowing skirts and fluttering tulle. This contrast between motion and stillness leaves the images breathing with life.
As for player laments like "Why hasn't this skin been implemented in-game for Elysia?", I completely relate to that feeling. When gamers see a special design for a character in-game or in concept art, they always hope it becomes an official playable skin someday. As someone who loves cosplay, my greatest joy is turning these lovely designs into real-world visual imagery through my own efforts. Although the outfit leans dark and edgy, these blue eyes and pink short hair still firmly grasp the core temperament of the original character. Creating this "contrast effect" was precisely what made this shoot so gratifying.
Regarding makeup, I intentionally defined the eye contours, using eyeliner and eyeshadow smudging to make the blue eyes more vibrant. The lip color chosen was a natural warm red, which doesn't steal the spotlight from the eye makeup or wig while maintaining elegance and health. Having styled short pink wigs many times before, I handled it smoothly this time, maintaining fluffiness at the bangs and sideburns so that even under intense studio lighting, the wig cap mesh remains hidden.
The overall lighting setup leaned towards cool tones, working with the greyish-white set to create a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere. This lighting style demands meticulous makeup precision because light reveals every detail; fortunately, our prep work was thorough, seamlessly blending base makeup and contouring shadows. During breaks, owing to the off-shoulder short skirt design, it was easy to catch a cold. I noticed that while keeping poses open, I had to consciously relax my shoulders; otherwise, my back would appear too rigid, making the overall state look strained. Thankfully, the final photos achieved the visual output we envisioned.
This black dress elf-style look represents an expansion of my personal cosplay style—exploring unique visual expressions by combining character traits with atmospheric design rather than purely replicating default game attire.
