Shooting March 7th's Evernight form from Honkai: Star Rail involved extensive preparation down to the finest details. I portrayed the black-red-white ensemble, while my partner Bailu wore the blue-and-white variant. For makeup, we tested numerous eyeshadow palettes to complement the eye contours and tones, ultimately settling on muted soft pink-purples paired with vivid red contact lenses. The wig was a custom pink design, carefully layered and styled with pomade to ensure natural curves along the bangs and sideburns. On the costume side, the black top featured a textured jacquard weave; the red bow tie at the collar, along with the chest's silver chains and emblems, were adjusted by hand. The black leg straps underwent multiple fitting tweaks to hug the leg lines snugly for an elongated silhouette without pinching during movement. Bailu's blue-and-white costume incorporated clear nautical and exploration motifs—white lantern sleeves, a blue sash, and a turquoise camera prop intentionally positioned after consulting our photographer.

The set was a classic vintage palace interior with plush red velvet drapes, white European carved chairs, a thick white fur rug, a chessboard, and candelabras. Warm-toned lighting on shoot day highlighted the red, white, and gold palette while enriching the texture of the pink hair. In terms of choreography, a high-angle overhead shot featured both of us lying side-by-side on the rug—tucking the chin slightly with eyes closed required immense facial relaxation. Several interactive seated poses stood out, particularly a front-facing shot where I sat upright while my partner sat beside me, legs together and tilted gently to accentuate the leg straps; its balanced composition made it our cover choice. Bailu posed playfully, throwing peace signs and leaning against my knee, keeping the shoot lighthearted. Embodying Evernight meant capturing that serene, enigmatic presence—cool yet gentle. Post-processing focused on skin tone uniformity and rug texture without excessive distortion, preserving authentic light and shadow. Huge thanks to photographer Lizi for the creative framing and vision in this Honkai: Star Rail shoot.
