The photos for this summer pool set have finally been edited. Actually, doing a pool photoshoot in an indoor studio is much more tiring than expected, perfect for an anime girl theme.
Let's talk about the makeup and styling first. The long pink wig combined with headwear featuring cross, star, and wing elements can easily make the top look heavy visually. To balance the visual center of gravity, I deliberately exaggerated the eye makeup, wore light-colored contact lenses, and used pinkish blush and glossy lip tint so that I wouldn't look washed out under cold light and water surface reflections. Caring for the wig is a big project; pink hair gets tangled easily once it touches water, so every time I got out of the water, I had to groom it immediately.
I chose a pink lace two-piece swimsuit with a rose decoration on the chest, paired with a multi-layered pearl necklace and a blue-heart temporary tattoo. I especially want to mention the manicure; to match the overall color tone, I deliberately got long, complex black and white patterned nails. Although inconvenient for playing in the water, it looks super photogenic when holding props like transparent balloons. This styling also paired nude-colored tights, representing a typical stockings cosplay look; after being soaked underwater, the reflection and skin texture on the legs gained more layering.
Although the water temperature of the indoor pool is controllable, soaking in the water for a long time will still cause the skin to wrinkle. To capture the exact moment the water splashes, I took several continuous shots and finally picked the ones with the best splash shapes. In terms of poses, I tried sitting by the pool edge, leaning on a swim ring, and being half-submerged in the water. To make body lines look natural wrapped in swimsuit and stockings, I would intentionally keep my back straight and use a low-angle composition to make legs look visually slender.
The photographer handled the lighting very translucently, making the overall macaron color tone look very fresh. Although the mosaic tiles by the pool, distant green plants, lounge chairs, and picnic props were just background, combining them made the frame extremely rich. Completing this summer film set of pictures has truly fulfilled my summer pool dream, and next I'm ready to welcome autumn outdoor shoots.
