This Yuni cosplay shoot took place in a classic setting of Chinese garden photography, specifically choosing a white Modern Cheongsam styling.

The glossy texture of the white Modern Cheongsam rendered beautifully under natural light, featuring a mandarin collar with frog closures, orange-yellow patterns on the dress body, and a high slit along the side. Wearing white shorts underneath paired with White over-the-knee socks, topped with long white gloves and black high heels, this ensemble visually elongated the leg lines.

Because of the long hair, the dark green wig styled with a long, thick braid was elaborate and meticulous, though managing it tested the team's patience since the braid easily caught on railings and nearby foliage, requiring frequent untangling. The makeup focused on translucency, featuring a subtle orange-yellow floral mark drawn beneath the corner of the eye paired with light-toned contacts to soften the gaze. A pale pink folding fan served as a prop, adding variety to the poses without appearing jarring.

Given the strong linear silhouette of this outfit, I coordinated numerous camera angles with the photographer. In particular, the shots sitting on the wooden railing used a low-angle perspective to beautifully highlight the visual effect of long legs and White over-the-knee socks, while offering ample spatial depth. Complemented by banana leaves and interlacing light and shadow, the overall classical atmosphere felt wonderful. Waiting in the garden for sunlight to filter through the canopy and cast dappled shadows across the clothing and hair took longer than anticipated.

Yuni possesses a quiet and gentle persona from Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, and combining the cut of a Modern Cheongsam with over-the-knee socks added an everyday, realistic charm without compromising her core characterization—serving as an exploratory styling take on an underrated character. This anime was my gateway into the otaku subculture, and over a decade has flown by in the blink of an eye. Although the buzz around this character and series is no longer what it once was, and loving a nostalgic, underrated character often feels like fueling a flame out of pure personal love, every time I put on the wig, finish my makeup, and stand before the lens, that long-cherished passion remains genuinely vivid.

Capturing the costume's subtleties from different angles—such as the drape of the Modern Cheongsam's slit when seated, folds in the gloves, or the nuanced emotion conveyed by a fan partially obscuring the face—made these details truly memorable in this shoot. The styling matched the Chinese garden photography setting seamlessly; without extravagant props, the simple costume and serene still life conveyed exactly the desired mood. It was a faithful portrayal that let the character's innate purity shine through quiet simplicity.

Producing this photo set feels like giving closure to my youthful memories. The shoot was delightful and smooth, and I am deeply grateful to the photographer and support crew who worked tirelessly with me that day to beautifully capture a character I have loved for so many years.
