This cosplay photoshoot centers around a massive moon ring apparatus and blue-and-white mythological-style attire, presented in a palette of ice blue, pure white, and metallic gold. As the Iuno cosplay model, the moment I received the costume and props, I began to contemplate how to convey this character's sense of mystery and cool, aloof temperament through lens language. First, in terms of makeup and hair, this sapphire blue long hair is the visual focus; the twin-tail structure paired with black woven ribbons and golden feather-like hair ornaments beautifully outlines the contours of the head. To match the ethereal vibe of the character's setting, ice blue colored contact lenses were selected, and the eye makeup avoided overly heavy shading, instead using subtle pearlescent shimmer to highlight the inner corners of the eyes. The lip makeup used a soft creamy apricot color, hoping the overall makeup look would present a translucent and glossy texture under the studio lights.

The costume features a vast amount of details. For this shoot, what I focused on most was actually the texture expression of the metallic accessories. The star-shaped necklace and obsidian decorations around the neck, the wide golden bracers on the arms, and the metallic belt and sapphires at the waist form a highly striking contrast against the white fabric. Although these metallic accessories were actually somewhat heavy to wear—especially posing a certain burden when shooting postures that required large bodily twists—for the sake of the final photo effects, this physical "restriction" also became a sort of ritual for entering the character's state. The white strap sandals and the criss-cross lacing on the legs are also a critical link in this styling, which adds layers to the extensive negative space while reinforcing the tension of the silhouette in coordination with the dynamic movement.

Although the location was an indoor studio shoot, we specially built a prop set centered around a huge ring-shaped moon apparatus, combined with a deep blue starry sky backdrop cloth, visually constructing an otherworldly starry sanctuary. During the actual shoot, the photographer used a high-power softbox as the main light source, accompanied by a blue-gelled rim light to outline the edges of the hair strands, allowing the lighting to perfectly restore the texture of the silver wrinkled reflective cloth background, while creating a warm-and-cold contrast between the metallic bronze of the large ring and the white glowing "moon" in the center. That blue semi-transparent small sphere used as a prop was actually quite a test of the hand movements' naturalness during shooting because it easily generated intense highlight reflections, requiring the most suitable lighting tilt angle to make the sphere look like a core containing real starlight energy.

The shooting process was actually extremely physically draining. For example, in the photos where I sit on the steps holding the blue sphere high with one hand, or the moment of looking back, controlling core strength for a long duration was necessary to maintain smooth leg lines and an erect waistline. Like when raising both hands, because the arm armor would jam the joints, we had to stop and move the shoulders many times. However, seeing the effects on the monitor screen made me feel all the hard work was entirely worth it. I really love this process of conveying emotion through styling and composition; different camera angles can showcase a completely distinct side of the persona. Some high-angle shots can highlight the character's determination when facing fate, while some close-ups—such as the image blocking the eyes with the small sphere—possess more of a visual conflict that breaks mystery and peeking.

In post-processing, we deliberately preserved the luster of the costume's metal and reflective cloth, without executing too much highlight suppression, which allows the entire set of photos to look more textured and closer to the atmosphere of a "mythology descending." Every time trying this kind of fantasy-style Anime cosplay output is a highly fresh experience, because you not only have to make the clothes look good but also combine them with the background environment to shape an atmosphere. Starting from the sensory experience of the overall cold tone to the intertwining of the character's gaze with the moon ring in the frame, I feel every single frame harbors a storyline. This is just a little insight regarding the integration of styling, props, and scenes, and it counts as our attempt at color aesthetics.
