[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane 9th Anniversary, The Witching Hour Under Neon Lights

The design of this outfit for Cheshire is truly dialed up to the max, featuring a patchwork of black glossy material and transparent PVC. Combined with the iconic blue-and-white color-blocked bow tie and the cropped, cinched top, the overall look captures both the playfulness of a magical girl and a touch of cyberpunk avant-garde flair. For this shoot, the wig's blue-silver highlights were specially layered to ensure they refract a subtle metallic sheen under the neon lights, keeping it from looking dull.

Huge thanks to the creativity of photographer Pulao411 this time; we chose a motorcycle garage with a powerful industrial vibe. The on-set lighting and shadow arrangement used large areas of purple-blue gradients dotted with magenta accents, and the lighting technique perfectly highlighted the transparency and reflectivity of the PVC material. The moment Cheshire sat on the black heavy motorcycle, speed and mystery strangely blended together.

Throughout the shoot, we kept trying various poses, such as holding the wide brim of the top hat or leaning against the fuel tank while slightly turning the face, all while being careful not to let the white shirt and bow tie look too messy. The motorcycle's metallic painted reflections happened to echo the shimmer of the transparent material on the costume. Actually, I was worried at first that the PVC material would easily produce harsh reflections and cause a loss of details, but the actual results turned out unexpectedly well; the highlights instead enhanced the character's cold, glamorous aura. With the successful rollout of this project for the Azur Lane 9th Anniversary celebration, I also wanted to use this set of photos to do my best to recreate that determination and depth hidden beneath Cheshire's lively exterior. I hope everyone can feel the blurry yet tension-filled atmosphere of the 'Gorgeous Night Dream' we wanted to express together in this frozen frame of Anime cosplay.
