When preparing this Yutenji Nyamu cosplay costume, the primary focus was ensuring a seamless fit between the black-and-white striped top and the black corset. Because this top features a high collar adorned with a pearl necklace and ruby brooch, slightly lowering my head during shooting would cause these accessories to buckle and distort, requiring safety pins in advance to secure them in place. This is likely another subtle design nuance from the Ave Mujica and Arknights: Unpromised Land collaboration, boasting a very striking red, black, and white contrasting palette.
Styling the purple hair required paying close attention to the natural curvature of the bangs. To achieve that slightly playful yet enigmatic vibe from the illustration, I prepared two extra hair wefts beneath the crown, which, paired with purple contacts and winged eyeliner, made my gaze appear sharper.
The most fun part during the shoot was actually the shoes. The combination of red high heels and Black stockings was undoubtedly a highlight of this look, but the heels were very high, and along with reflections in front of the mirror, it demanded great balance. When shooting in a kneeling pose, ensuring clean thigh lines while positioning the red leg garter at the most flattering spot took roughly seven or eight angle adjustments. The winking expression in the first photo was an attempt to mimic a clever, cat-like charm. Since this collaboration theme incorporated feline elements, I deliberately wove in some subtle, unique gestures distinct from my usual poses.
Under the set lighting, the sheen of pearls and the metallic gleam of the red gemstones stood out brilliantly. I adopted a slight semi-squatting stance, utilizing the mirror to showcase the complete outfit. Tightening the corset lacing required considerable tension to convey that cinched waistline, so we had to pause periodically during shooting to catch a breath. While gorgeous, maintaining a fixed pose for extended periods was definitely a physical test.
Overall, the outfit possesses rich visual layering—transitioning from the hazy translucency of sheer tulle sleeves to the crisp, structured lines of the black corset, down to the red shorts and high heels. The black-and-white striped shirt fabric has a crisp drape, making it ideal for creating extended lines around the chest.
Another detail worth mentioning is that because the event background contained props like roses and white tulle, extra care was needed during shooting to keep those elements from stealing focus, ensuring the spotlight remained firmly on facial features and leg contours.
The entire hair and makeup process wasn't overly lengthy, yet every step was essential.
