Shooting this set of Yunli cosplay was truly a highly challenging yet super satisfying experience. To maximize the recreation of this little barefoot swordsman Anime girl's agile feel in Honkai: Star Rail, I specially chose lightweight fabrics with excellent drape for the costume, matching the main blue and white color scheme with the iconic red outer cloak. Whether in static poses or dynamic candid shots, it maintains a perfect flowing effect. The headwear, the gems around the neck, and the armor pieces were given a fine metallic texture. Although they have some weight when worn, these details absolutely could not be compromised in order to present a three-dimensional texture in front of the lens.

The lighting on the shooting day was fantastic; natural light filtered through the leaves and scattered across the ground, creating a very clean and bright atmosphere. I really love this kind of natural location that comes with its own soft-light effect, giving the blue hair—which is inherently a bit cool-toned—a warm halo under the sun. Regarding props, that heavy broadsword really tested my arm strength. To strike a confident posture like carrying it on my shoulder or standing upright, I needed to tighten my core and also leverage the weight center of the prop itself. Because the prop accuracy is so high, lifting it up instantly instills the character's sense of conviction.

Since the character is designed to be barefoot, the shooting process really tested my adjustment to the ground. I had to constantly avoid sharp debris, but this also brought me closer to Yunli's uninhibited, free personality. In post-processing color grading, I tried my best to preserve the translucency of the original shots and only slightly adjusted the light ratio to make the red and blue color-blocking of the costume stand out even more. Being able to break the dimensional wall for this character through my own performance and meet everyone amidst these dappled tree shadows is the ultimate meaning of doing Honkai: Star Rail cosplay for me.
