[Columbina Cosplay] Genshin Impact: Serene Aura Beneath Light Wings

Characters in the Genshin Impact world often possess a unique aura, and trying to recreate Columbina this time was quite a challenge for me. Just like the "apologies for OOC" mentioned in the post, I kept trying to adjust my state during the shoot, striving to get closer to her mysterious, light, and distant presence.

Let's start with the wig. The most distinct feature of this wig is the high-saturation magenta and rose-pink highlights mixed into the black hair, which is highly recognizable in the character design. During the shoot, I intentionally combed the wig to add volume, letting the bangs fall naturally to shade the eyes, capturing just the right peek-a-boo effect. Both sides were tied into playful little pigtails with thin white ribbons, complemented by black-and-white diamond hair accessories—small details adding a touch of vitality to a solemn style. The translucent white wing hairpiece on top of the head was the finishing touch of the whole outfit; lightweight with great light permeability, it gleamed softly under indoor lighting, adding a fairy-like grace.

The outfit's design is quite complex. The main body features an overlapping tri-color scheme of light blue, white, and golden yellow. A white bow ribbon decoration adorns the chest, centered with a blue gem ornament surrounded by golden 3D patterns, looking exquisite and gorgeous. The off-the-shoulder design nicely displays the collarbones and necklines, which, combined with the long white cloth strips wrapped around the arms, creates a clean, elegant, yet capable battle-girl vibe. The white arm wraps are a classic styling element; to create a natural drape and dynamic feel, I adjusted the wrapping method multiple times, ensuring ease of movement while making the layered cloth look great in photos.

Regarding makeup, the base aimed for clean translucency paired with light purple contact lenses; capturing the gaze before the lens was crucial. I selected cool-toned eyeshadows with extended, slightly flicked eyeliner to emphasize an ethereal eye makeup look. To express that detached coldness, I tried drooping my eyelids slightly to make the gaze look softer and more natural. The lip color was a soft pale pink, blending seamlessly with my skin tone to make the face appear fair and gentle.

During the actual shoot, I chose a seated posture to let the skirt spread out naturally, displaying the multi-layered hem texture of the Anime-style fashion. In the pictures, I tried two different expressions. In one, my finger lightly touches my chin with slightly cast-down eyes, aiming to reflect that mysterious, quiet mood. In the other, I made a playful V-sign, attempting to give the picture a livelier touch so it wouldn't feel overly cold throughout. For shooting angles, I focused on half-body close-ups, as this outfit has so many details—such as collarbones, wraps, and hair ornaments—that taking only full-body shots might miss many refined aspects.

Actually, costume accuracy in Cosplay photography is only one part; more important is the expression and temperament. Thus, regarding "OOC", I truly understand it myself. Many original characters have unique temperaments that require repeated contemplation to achieve true resemblance. I am still in the exploration stage; perhaps I couldn't fully interpret the character's soul this time, but I did my best to infuse my current understanding of "her."
