[Nahida Cosplay] Genshin Impact Liyue Gathering: Watching Comrade Zhongli Compose Poetry on the Spot

The theme for this Genshin Impact group shoot was set as a Liyue-style literary gathering. I cosplayed Nahida, with the main story concept centered around watching comrade Zhongli's impromptu poetry composition. With so many characters around a study desk, arranging the bamboo slips and calligraphy brushes alone took considerable time. Before shooting, we discussed our positioning in our group chat, eventually settling on a three-row composition using the desk as the foreground, which created a fantastic overall framing.

Everyone in this shoot was a hardcore perfectionist with details. Venti cosplay was poking his head around curiously as if ready to cause mischief at any second, while Zhongli cosplay held his calligraphy brush in gloved hands with solemn seriousness, keeping everyone from speaking too loudly. Raiden Ei cosplay stood in the back looking deep in thought with spot-on facial expression control. Furina stood on the right holding a blue-and-white porcelain vase filled with white plum blossoms prepared in advance—we even dabbed some glue on the petals to keep them from falling off. Mavuika's aura was commanding; her crimson hair paired with her black, gold, and red outfit made her stand out distinctly in the crowd.

During the shoot, makeup, styling, and wigs were major highlights. Nahida's costume is packed with details, and its white-and-green color palette is very refreshing. The wig is quite long, and securing the elf ear props and hair accessories so they wouldn't fall off took serious effort. While getting ready, everyone helped each other adjust wigs; since moving around could easily bump into props, we had to be extra cautious. My pose involved leaning over the desk, which really tested my hand positioning—holding the brush pretending to write carefully on the bamboo slips (which were blank, with text added in post-production).

Photographer A'Neng worked tirelessly to find the best angles, capturing everyone's focused expressions without letting anyone in the back get obscured. Because all six of us had different heights and skirt volumes, the crouching and seated poses of the guys in front and the girls behind had to be adjusted repeatedly. For lighting, warm amber tones were used to simulate evening study room light, creating a very cohesive overall color palette in post-production.

Our six-person teamwork was incredibly seamless. The interplay between Venti and Zhongli, along with Raiden Ei, Furina, and Mavuika quietly watching, truly evoked that Genshin Impact atmosphere of Archons from across Teyvat gathering for tea and conversation. I also tested the vase placement multiple times, making subtle adjustments so it wouldn't block Furina's face. The temperature on shooting day was rather high, making these thick costumes quite stuffy, but seeing the final photos made all our joint efforts worthwhile. Overall, this Genshin Impact group photoshoot was a wonderful experience with everyone dedicated to faithfully bringing their favorite characters to life.
