[Lumine cosplay] Genshin Impact low-angle grassland photo shoot: the moment reaching toward the sky

This shoot utilized a rather distinctive low-angle upward perspective. For this Genshin Impact Lumine cosplay outdoor location, we selected an expansive open meadow. The weather was splendid, the sky crystal azure, traversed by several condensation trails. The moment I lay down, the sunlight was glaring, but to convey that feeling of gazing up into the sky as if conversing with the heavens, I endured it. The action of stretching an arm straight toward the sky appears simple, yet lying on the ground while keeping the arm entirely straight with a deliberate finger direction strains the shoulder quickly. To capture that sense of human insignificance within the vast world, the photographer placed the camera extremely low, shooting almost level with the turf.

Regarding the outfit, this ensemble is richly layered, featuring white as the main tone paired with a blue skirt drape and black gloves. Lying across the grass, the fabric wrinkled easily or risked grass stains. After each shot, the assistant stepped in to smooth out the fabric and rearrange the cascading blue skirt. The golden wig also picked up stray blades of grass easily, demanding constant grooming to avoid post-processing headaches.

During shooting, to complement the mood of "Sky, do you know all?", we tested several poses. The finalized frame captures my finger pointing directly toward the sky just as contrails streaked overhead. To add tension, I adjusted my posture: one hand rested naturally near my cheek while the other reached forcefully upward. The photographer capitalized on wide-angle perspective distortion, setting the subject-to-sky ratio close to 1:3, drastically enhancing the spatial depth of the grassland photo shoot.

For lighting, the sun was positioned to the upper left, creating harsh backlighting or rim lighting. To keep facial features and costume details from losing depth to blackness, a reflector was placed in front to fill light and preserve translucent skin textures. Post-processing retained the solar flare, enhanced the celestial blue, and cleaned up distracting background elements across the grass, isolating the subject cleanly in Outdoor photography.

In terms of makeup, shooting under intense outdoor sun called for matte, sweat-resistant products to avoid excessive shine that might look greasy. Eye makeup was kept delicate to emphasize the character's natural, clean purity. The wig had been trimmed and smoothed the night before, with the curling ends set using a flat iron so they fanned out naturally rather than messily when lying down.

Concerning fabric textures, the multi-layered outfit features black piping and golden accents along the white top, while the sleeves utilize detached long gloves. Lying on the lawn caused the long gloves to slide down easily, requiring constant repositioning between takes. Boot straps also had to be tightened to a balanced fit—neither indenting the skin nor slipping loose when bending the legs.

Rather than conventional horizontal or standard vertical frames, the photographer deliberately opted for a wide-angle vertical composition with pronounced perspective. The sky dominates most of the frame, with the grass acting as leading lines in the foreground. Positioning the subject in the lower portion naturally pulls the viewer's gaze upward. To create harmony between the outstretched finger and the sky, several angles were tested before settling on pointing toward the upper right, intersecting with the contrail trajectory for clear visual leading.

Lying face-up on the grass requires mindful attention to the ground environment as well as garment smoothness. We cleared twigs and gravel beforehand and laid a thin mat before lying down. While looking serene in photos, resting the back on the ground while suspending an arm in the air required firm core engagement to prevent the body from looking limp.

Post-processing color grading took significant time, primarily to emphasize the crisp transparency of a summer sky. Desaturating the grass green cooled the palette, highlighting the sky's purity and dazzling sun. Through these details, I hope everyone feels the story behind this visual.
